Been a while since my last #thoughfuldailypost so tonight is as good as any! @Wesphilbin waves the @thoughtfulposts flag for us as the curation account that rewards them thoughtful posts. Please consider delegating if you are the thoughtful type and want to encourage people to share their positivity.
Here are a couple that made me pause, ponder, and made the cut for #thoughtfuldailypost. Now with added matched music fun.
Victim Mentality
This is more common lore than quotable literature.
This one caught my eye because I have been thinking a bunch about victim mentality. Trying to understand it in the context of mental illness, which is a work in progress. Unique circumstances and mental illness aside, I know a bit about having a victim mentality, what the results often were, and the value of casting it aside if you are able.
My generation identifies quite often as suffering PTSD for one thing or another. One of the traumatic influences were the "Nobody cares, you are not an expert in anything, work harder." It wasn't pleasurable to think my feelings didn't matter and things were my fault if things didn't go well. It also came with the empowering mindset that the solution is also in our control if we will it into action.
So, for me, the victim mindset was a choice that I could make differently and I wish that ability on everyone.
Victim of Changes was awesome back in 1976 and takes on new life at 10 minutes long when they are all old and grey and still kicking ass.
Offended
A little more lore that needs a little Jack Nicholson to have that certain je ne c'est quoi. French is the second official language up here anyhow.
Along these lines, we used to say, "When your doorbell rings, and you open the door to find a flaming bag of dog shit, don't stomp out the flames!" It was put there to make a mess and screw up your slippers. Half of this shit is cooked up for entertainment with the main objective to engage and hopefully divide. I am not taking that bait and neither is Jack.
I love to think of getting offended as a choice. When it is an impulse, maybe consider why I am offended and see if there is anything to learn. I am pretty hard to offend.
Still on the heavy theme, but for a reason I forget, here is Thieves from A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste by Ministry.
Helping others cast off the victim mentality and choosing not to be offended can surely lead to the greater good! If being thoughtful is up your alley, you have the option to delegate to @thoughfulposts to increase the rewards for positivity.

I love people that are easily offended.. especially online.. nothing provides greater satisfaction than dropping a dank meme on a Snowflake's page..
Example.
Bwahhh,ha, haa 😆 🤣 😂
Oh snap!
Hmm
It’s always good to be able to stand for ourselves and not trying to play a victim so that people will pity us
Yes. Being the victim may seem an easier mindset to take but talk to a victim and they wish they weren't.
