Hi there!
So recently I was able to watch two seasons of Code Geass --- Lelouch of the Rebellion and Lelouch of the Rebellion R2. It is a Japanese anime which aired circa 2006 to 2008 and has received awards from acclaimed anime bodies such as the Tokyo International Anime Fair, Animage Anime Grand Prix, and Animation Kobe event.
So recently, Ive been watching animes on Netflix like My Hero Academia, Tokyo Ghoul and Full Metal Alchemist. The first two Ive mentioned are rumored to have a new season to be released this year so Im really excited about it. Ill be writing about those animes maybe in the future. As I was saying, I was looking for a new anime to watch and that was when my friend introduced Code Geass to me. Luckily they have it on Netflix so I downloaded the episodes so I could watch them offline on my way home.
Overview:
Code Geass is about the story of a student, Lelouch zi Britannia, an heir to the emperor, who was able to change the world with his geass or so called "Power of Kings". This geass has many kinds but the one that Lelouch inherited was he can command anybody to do anything as he will. The story sets around the three biggest nations -- the Holy Britannian Empire (the Americas; also called Britannia), the Chinese Federation (Asia), and the European Union (Europe and Africa). It was when Britannia conquered Japan and made it one of its colonies thus the journey of Lelouch begins. His battle with great Britannia rooted when his mother, Marianne, was brutally killed and her sister blinded and crippled due that unfortunate incident. To fulfill his plan and promise to his younger sister, Nunnally, Lelouch built an army called "The Order of Black Knights" which started the rebellion from Britannia. Lelouch used the codename "Zero" in order to hide his identity. During his battles, he unexpectedly noticed a familiar face from his childhood. It was his only true friend, Suzaku Kururugi, but to his surprise, Suzaku was the side his enemy, the Britannians.

My Thoughts:
My friend asked me what were my thoughts on this anime and I couldnt answer him as I did not see any dull moment from it. Each character had a role that depicts our reality and the story plot was really amazing for me. The twists were placed on unexpected scenes which really highlighted every role and was really mind blowing. It showed how power can manipulate anything around you. Also, i couldnt help but notice the similarity of the bots used in this series from the also Japanese anime, Gundam. This will definitely be one of my favorite animes and I would recommend this highly for you to watch.
Verdict: *****
