Batiking was one of my favorite art forms that I learned about in a fibers class. It was very challenging for a person like myself, who tends to jump into a project and learn along the way, as the wax and the dye don't let you "try again". I would love to try this again but the one aspect that I underestimated was the need to plan ahead, especially when using multiple colors. I had a piece that had many different colors and designs and was looking too disjointed but I found a final wash in an orange dye made a lovely brown to complement blues and pinks that I had not protected with the designs laid in wax. Thanks for the information about the materials!
yes hopefully can be useful for you friend.
