Crypto crypto crypto! It's all anyone and everyone I know either wants to learn about or talk about. At work, at the gym at home even... my uncle called me a few months to ask how he could buy this 'bitcoin thing'. What's important to understand is that there is a lot of specific jargon to this world. Just to explain some of it I thought I would write this up.

ICO - Initial Coin Offering. Similar to stocks IPOs. It's a way for a company to raise funds except they use coins as the medium of exchange not stocks. These have been very popular over the past few years. Beware also as there have been many hacks and scams.

MARKET CAP - Very simply this is the market price multiplied by the circulating supply. Have a look at coinmarketcap.com and crunch some numbers to check yourself.

HODL - Hold. Long story short this started off a guy who drunkenly mistyped on a forum and now it's become a common term in the crypto community.

FUD - Good old FUD. This means Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. Basically when everyone panics and dances around like the floor is lava. We saw this in September 2017 when China banned ICOs.

BULLISH - This means we are going to go higher in price. Grab the bull by the horns and enjoy the ride.

BEARISH- This means we are going to go lower in price. The bears are about to claw all our juicy gains.

MOON - It means the coin is going insanely high in price. For me this is 50% and above. Different people have different metrics.

LAMBO - A common joke in the community. Don't we all want a lambo? Basically can a coin rise so much you can buy a lambo with it.

FIB RETRACEMENT/LEVELS - This refers to the Fibonacci numbers that are a mathematical relationship for determining support and resistance levels of a coin and even used in stock trading.

AIRDROPS - This is where a coin provides almost a dividend of a sort if you hold the coin in either an exchange that supports the drop or a wallet. It's dropped from thin air so that's where it gets it's name. Free money - look at NXT and IGNIS. They can be extremely profitable. These are different to forks as they aren't due to 'disagreements' in code. More a child is created from the parent coin.

ATH - All time high. It just means that the coin is trading at its highest price to date.

TREX - This refers to Bittrex. In the past whenever anything has listed on Bittrex it has 'mooned'.

PND - Pump and dump. Not what you're thinking...but its where a select group pump a coin with hype and rumours and then following news dump it. It happens all the time in this game so stay aware.

Hope this helps guys and if there are any terms I have missed please let me know and if I can make concepts more clear please also leave me a comment.

DISCLAIMER: Everything stated here are my opinions. Always invest with money you can afford to lose and do your own research - these are VERY risky investments. A lot of groups and people will misguide you so be sure you know what you are doing. Always remember all these investments can erode significantly in value as these are VERY volatile markets.

When lambo? When trex? When moon?
