🗞 BTC Prices Below $8K Could Spell Disaster for Bitcoin Miners

According to a study conducted by Wall Street analyst, Tom Lee’s agency, Fundstrat, BTC prices below the $8K range make it awfully difficult for miners to gain revenue. Lee details that at a global average rate of six cents per kilowatt-hour, some BTC miners are either breaking even right now or mining the cryptocurrency at a loss.

It is evident interesting things are happening in the world of cryptocurrency as of right now. Not all of these changes are positive by any means, though. With all prices still in the dirt, things look pretty terrible for most people. The IOTA price shows there may still light at the end of the tunnel, as it is the only top currency to note any gains.

Sky News has reported today, March 18, that Twitter is considering implementing a ban on cryptocurrency-related advertising in two weeks according to an as-of-yet unconfirmed report.

Twitter had not responded to a request for confirmation of the alleged crypto ad ban by press time.

In terms of technological innovation, Israel has been labeled by some as “The Startup Nation” with Israeli ventures raising over $5 billion in capital in 2017. This is almost 10% of China’s yearly fundraising total. The symbolic support of 2$ is now broken. That support line held the drop during several hours but this was not strong enough to stop it. We are now under the 2$ and to be honnest, the next important support is around 1.26$. Let's don't be negative, a simple bounce could push us back upper of the 2$ but we need that the drop paused soon to be able to do that.

Indeed, it can go under your production cost for a while until it really hits you.
But I am sure their Breakeven is way lower than 8k.

I have seen the news about BTC mining not being profitable at under $8,000.00 several times and I have asked the same question, if they can't profit at say $7,000.00 what were they doing when BTC was at $1,000.00?

I guess it was less GPU intensive. I also ask myself the same question.
