Cooperative Agorism is sweeping the world now. Soon even companies run by nation states will start to pick up these techologies in order to stay competetive in the markets. Otherwise they will be forced to ban it in order to stay in business - and we all know that won't be easily done!
"Is an MPA a nation or a community?" you ask. Per definition; No. An MPA is a formal agreement that does not itself consist of any personhood, so it can't be a community. It also doesn't wield conscriptatory powers; It can't itself force anyone to enter into an agreeement the way that a State does, so it is not at all a nation in any of those two common interpretations of the word.
If the organisation around the MPA should start to accumulate and use conscriptatory powers hoever, then of course they would indeed have errected a State.
I liked much of the contents of this post and though it's a very broad conversation that may include a lot of speculation that's hard to test so far, it's certainly a conversation much worth having.
Thank you for posting! Upvoted and resteemed.
The idea of "Is an MPA a nation or a community" came up while thinking - What if all Euro would move into a BitEUR. So everybody would buy Bitcoin, BitShares, Dash or any other kind of decentralized digital currency. What's next? So the Euro disappears because nobody believes it anymore, and everybody trusts the MPA or other digital currency.
As a society we trust and believe that the Fiat Euro has any value, we are one big community that all agrees on that. Same like Bitcoin right? But what if there is no central bank anymore? MPA are free from a central bank and just get created and destroyed by demand and supply.
So in a certain point of view, MPA might become the center of a new community and maybe even a global state.
Yes, this I certainly agree with .... and apart from the risk we of course will always face of state power not being discontinued, this is precisely what Cooperative Agorism is about; It's the conscious pursuit of outbuilding our current state institutions and replacing those with private alternatives that people then can freely choose to associate with if they want to.
