It truly is sad when that much of the population do not know what our rights are. My kids are 11 and 14 and they know what they are. I ask this because it could be one of the reasons. Did you ask if they were home schooled or public schooled taught? If not this could be one influencing reasons. They are simply not teaching it.

Exactly. They don't teach much of anything of value in traditional educational settings. I am glad to see your kids know more - probably because you took the time to do so.
I do invite you to consider letting your kids take part in any of my free courses at the Liberty Academy. Here are a couple of suggestions:
Your 11 year old could easily take the first two.
Thanks for weighing in on the conversation; I really appreciate it. I am following you now, as I also see you have a lot of great contents on your blog.

Thank you for the follow. I will go check out these links that you have given me. I decided when I had children that it was my job to raise them and teach them. I hated school growing up as I felt like it was more about socialization and not learning. When my kids were toddlers I started their education and found that they were very capable of learning beyond what the professionals said they were. So education for them is more guided by their interests than dictated by their age.
Good for you and your children. I think a key thing you said is "education for them is more guided by their interests", as this is so very important to development. Not all children are alike. Their are unique beings with their own vibrant curiosities and interests. Thus, any educational setting that forces them into a fixed mold is bound to lose their attention and motivation.
