Beijing
has the largest amount of decorated archways in the world. Besides their decorative purpose, many are now local landmarks. Most of them are wooden archways like the city’s largest wooden archway Zhengyangqiao Archway, close to
TiananmenSquare 
some of them were made of colored glaze such as the archways at Dongyue Temple and
Confucius 
Temple which were built to revere gods and sages while stone archways like those at the Ming Tombs and Zhongshan Park act as memorials. Have you seen decorated archways in Beijing?
