春秋战国时期有许多刺客的事迹可歌可泣，有聂政的壮烈，有荆轲的骄傲，但是也有一位刺客，从头到尾我就觉得窝囊，他就是试图行刺赵襄子的豫让。
刺客豫让像
这个刺客的故事背景就是“三家分晋”。晋国到了春秋末年，朝政被六大公卿掌握，经过一番争斗，范氏和中行氏被灭，剩下的四个家族里，智氏的实力最强大。
智氏开始逐个收拾剩下三个家族，准备独霸晋国。当时智氏当家人智伯联合韩、魏两家一起进攻赵氏。就在赵氏快顶不住的时候，赵氏当家人赵襄子派人游说韩、魏两家，告诉他们赵氏被灭之后，他们也会被智氏所灭，于是三家决定联手。战场上，韩、魏倒戈，智氏被消灭，其家族土地被韩赵魏三家瓜分，晋国也最终分裂为三个国家。

智伯由于当初是进攻赵氏的主使，因此赵襄子对他恨之入骨，让人将智伯的头骨做成了酒具，天天用这个人头酒具饮酒。
当时智伯手下有一名刺客，名字叫做豫让，他开始为范氏和中行氏效力，一直默默无闻，范氏和中行氏被灭之后投靠了智伯，结果智伯又战败了。我觉得豫让就是个丧门星，不过他本人显然不这么认为，智氏灭亡后豫让逃亡到山林里躲起来，后来躲的时间长了，豫让也觉得窝囊，想来想去，觉得智伯对自己不错，“士为知己者死，女为悦己者容”，自己应该以死来报答智伯的知遇之恩，应该替智伯报仇，这样即使死后，自己的魂魄也不至于愧对九泉之下的智伯。因此豫让开始计划行刺赵襄子。

豫让说到做到，为了掩人耳目能够接近赵襄子，他更名改姓以后，还干了一件心狠手辣的事情，他把自己阉割了，然后顺利进入赵国宫殿，成了一名伺候大王上厕所的宦官。他带着匕首在厕所里工作，默默等着赵襄子前来上厕所。（《史记·刺客列传》：乃变名姓为刑人，入宫涂厕。）
赵襄子这天上厕所，突然感觉边上伺候的宦官目光闪烁，似乎对自己心怀不轨，当时就命令左右卫士冲上前去，将豫让抓住。逼问之下，豫让大方承认自己这次来就是为了智伯报仇的。赵襄子身边众人要把豫让处死，赵襄子觉得这个人虽然有点二，但是还算有些胆量和义气，就让人把他放了。
赵襄子警觉厕所有刺客
豫让出来之后还不死心，想要继续行刺赵襄子，为此他这回做了更充分的准备。他用漆涂遍全身，由于当时漆是有毒的，豫让全身溃烂，满是毒疮，彻底毁容了。毁容之后，豫让去找他老婆，想试试自己会不会被老婆认出来，结果聊了几句后，他老婆对别人说：“这人我虽然不认识，但是他的声音很象我老公豫让啊。”听到这个，豫让心有所悟，于是烧了一堆木炭，然后将已经烧红的炭块吞下喉咙，彻底毁掉了自己的嗓子。

为了考验自己的改造效果，豫让到大马路上行乞，他老婆路过之后，根本没认出来，结果反而被路过的朋友认出来了。朋友很心疼，对他说：“你何苦这样糟践自己啊，以你的本事，只要投靠赵襄子，自然能得到很好的待遇，等到对方彻底信任你以后，你再找个机会报仇啊。你这样糟蹋自己是干嘛啊？”豫让说：“这种事我可做不出来，投靠赵襄子以后，我就成了赵襄子的人，再杀他，那我不就成了出尔反尔之徒，这种人毫无信义，我可不能这样做。”朋友知道他傻，也懒得再劝他。
毁容、毁嗓子后，豫让又好好改扮了一番，确定再也没人能够认出他的时候，他再次踏上行刺的旅程。这次他躲到了赵襄子出行必经之路的一座桥下，结果躲得不够严密，让赵襄子的马看见，惊叫乱跳。随从不知道发生了什么，赵襄子一下猜出来又是豫让在附近要行刺。于是豫让再次被抓到赵襄子面前。

赵襄子就问豫让：“之前你也跟过范氏、中行氏，怎么不替他们报仇，反而为智伯报仇这事你这么来劲？”豫让说“范氏和中行氏对我就当一般人而已，智伯却把我当成了国士，所以我要给他报仇。”赵襄子叹了口气说：“我已经放过你一回了，这回我不会放过你了。”豫让说：“要不这样，你把衣服脱下来，让我用宝剑砍衣服几下，也当时报仇了。”
赵襄子没想到这个傻子居然是个傻文青，居然有这么荒唐的请求，想来想去，算了，满足他。于是脱下外衣扔了过去，豫让跳起来对着衣服砍了三剑，终于满足了，扔掉武器束手就擒，最终被赵襄子所杀。
这件故事告诉我们，不要找一根筋的人来办事。

When Zhao was almost unable to hold off the attack, Zhao family's head, Zhao Yanzi (赵襄子) sent people to lobby both Han and Wei and told them that IF Zhao was destroyed, they, Han and Wei, would be destroyed by Zhi next. So the three decided to join forces. On the battlefield, Han and Wei defected [to Zhao] and Zhi was destroyed [instead], and who's family's land was divided by the three families of Han, Zhao, and Wei. Jin, in the end / eventually split into three countries.

Zhao Yanzi asked Yu: "You had followed Fan and Zhongxing before, why did you not take revenge for them? Instead, you were so revengeful Zhao?"
Yu said, "Fan and Zhongxing treated me as an ordinary person only, Zhibo treated me as a national hero, so I would take revenge on him.”
Zhao Yanzi sighed and said: “I have let you go once and I will not let you off this time.”
Yu said, “Why don’t you let me do this - take off your clothes and let me chop it down a few times with the sword and let me count that as my revenge.”
Zhao Yanzi did not expect that this fool was actually a stupid man. That was such a ridiculous request that he wanted to think about it, then decided to grant him his request. So he took off his coat and threw it down. Yu jumped up and cut his clothes with a swords three times, finally satisfied and threw down the weapon and surrendered, and was eventually killed by Zhao Yanzi.
This story tells us that we shouldn’t use a stubborn man (一根筋的人) to do things.
