The Sacred family of Barcelona, the most emblematic project of Antonio Gaudí, will finally be completed in the year 2026, a century after the death of the architect, who took over in 1883 of a work that completely changed and to which he dedicated , in an exclusive way, the last twelve years of his life.
The architect director of the Sagrada Familia, Jordi Faulí, explained in Confernecia of press that the works of the building currently have a budget of about 25 million euros ($28.3 million) and in 2016 will begin the construction of the upper part of the Central towers, that is, those of Jesus Christ, Mary and the Four Evangelists.
"Those central towers will only be visible from the outside from 2017, and will be completely finished in 2020, still missing the pinnacles to crown the structures," said Faulí.
The construction of these structures will be carried out with a technique never before used on such a large scale, consisting of going riding "little by little" stone panels with prestressed irons inside to get "a sturdy and one-piece set, which "Hold the wind Well," explained the architect.
The Tower of Jesus Christ will be the largest of the plants since it will have, once put the pinnacle in the form of star of four points, a height of 172.5 meters, which respects the desire of Gaudí that his work never surpasses the almost 180 meters of the mountain of Mont ".
