Yes, I think @steemmonsters can compete well with Hearthstone, if it is further developed. But we are still in the beta phase 😃
You can get the cards through quest and / or reward at Hearthstone as well as at @steemmonsters or buy booster.
At Hearthstone, there are also tournaments that are held in grand style with big prize money. However, these are always big organized events that do not happen so often.
If the tournaments are implemented at @steemmonsters and you can start the tournaments there will hopefully be a big increase of become new players (so I hope). The community and players also want these tournaments as you can see. It is not for nothing that privately organized small tournaments are launched via the new challenge function.
But the biggest aspect of talking to @steemmonsters is the fact that you own your cards and if you want to trade with them as well.
You have invested your money and leisure in the game to improve the cards and expand your collection, and so you have not done so in vain. It compares very well to other card games like Magic the Gatherer or Yu-Gi-Oh and some others, because you spend your time and money in this game and some cards are still going up in value.
There is no company like Blizzard arrives that says the card are the property of the developer, you are not allowed to, whether you have paid for it or not.
