This past Friday January 19th, 2018 the Thai police detained 40 year old Boonchai Bach, a Thai man from Vietnam, in Nakorn Panom on the border with Laos accusing him and his family of smuggling poached animal parts from elephants, rhinos, pangolins, tigers and lions to dealers in Laos, Vietnam and China. Specifically Bach is accused of trafficking 14 rhino horns on a cargo flight from Thailand to Africa in December worth around $1 million.
