As of late there has been a lot of talk about DigiByte (DGB), a lot of which has been purely speculation to this point. Over the first 2 days of June 2017 DigiByte saw an amazing 43% increase in price, which saw it topping it's previous high from May 21st. Now for the new traders/investors who are watching the prices of BTC and other altcoins as often as they can; some of these currencies, DigiByte included, may seem very volatile (don't get me wrong they certainly can be) however in the past month DigiByte alone has seen a whopping increase in value exceeding 1,000%.
In the particular case of DigiByte, there are a few reasons - 3 main ones in my opinion.
Firstly - their integration with Minecraft.
When initially hearing about this I imagined there to be something massive in mind, however the Minecraft integration is a little bit smaller than what most people will be expecting. Basically a DigiByte supporter is starting their own server where users will be able to play the game and earn DigiByte through mining blocks. This should definitely have a positive effect on the value of the coin, but maybe not as much as some investors would have been hoping.
Still a cool little addition however in my opinion!
Secondly - 'Meme Contest'.
The news is that there is some sort of meme contest that is currently taking place over a few different social media platforms. It seems that this is providing more brand exposure than anything for DigiByte, judging by the statistics for the past month I believe that this could have contributed to increased value of their coin.
Lastly - DigiByte Citibank Presentation.
DigiByte may not have won this presentation yet, however it certainly got a lot of people talking about the coin and investing in it (evidently). Again I believe that this would also have been great brand exposure for DigiByte.

I'd like to correct some things. Digibyte is not responsible for the minecraft server, a Digibyte supporter made it. The meme contest also isn't done by the dev team. The Citibank competition can still be won, but the important thing is that they made new connections at the finals.
