Ether, the third largest cryptocurrency by market valuation, recently crossed the $900 mark, starting the new year at an all time high. The currency's valuation started climbing around midnight (UTC) and capped at a new high of $914.83 , according to CoinDesk's Ethereum Price Index.
Ether has seen a growth of 14.52% in the last 24 hours, and 13.62% over the last week. It is speculated that the price gains were a result of the increased trading volumes, with popular Asian exchanges reporting notable increases in the last 24 hours.
with the amount of supposed ICOS that are using erc-20 tokens in their projects i'd say that ETHER is a safe bet for the next five years+ at least.
I think ethereum is less vulnerable and more reliable
