RE: Facebook knows a lot about me - here's everything I found | CNBC

in #dlike6 years ago

Ah, well, I was very late to come on-board with Facebook, so by the time I created my FB account, most of these pernicious practices were already known or at least strongly suspected. So I have been very cautious. I only have a FB account at all because it's necessary here in Argentina.

FB cannot recognise my face because I have never uploaded a picture of myself. To the best of my knowledge and belief, there are no unmasked pictures of me anywhere online. If you look at my intro post here on Steemit, I am wearing shades and the date sign is covering the bottom half of my face.

Facebook only knows as much about you as you tell it. I don't post major life events, or add many friends, or get invited to social events. And the only photos I have ever uploaded to FB are in the public domain, such as the picture of the Gur-e-Amir that I use as background, which is from Wikimedia.

For the record, I am here at the request of crypto.piotr
