This is another one that got split into two different dreams because I woke up to pee. No apologies for that. First half was very RPG-ish in that I was going on quests, then returning to a town to sell whatever I'd caught or killed in a shop for money.
Specifically I was a diver. This was some future Mars, partially terraformed such that it was still almost entirely desert, but it did have oceans. Murky ones that I descended into routinely in search of a rare species of Martian squid.
I was attacked many times by some weird colorful Martian offshoot of alligators which I did not bother to catch or waste ammo on as they weren't worth anything until I saw my prey. Only, while I was on the approach, something new appeared.
Like a much larger, more advanced version of these squids. It looked right at me, as if it knew I was hunting its bretheren. The battle was long and fierce but I emerged victorious, trudging out of the muck dragging the beast behind me by one of its immense tentacles.
Then it was off to town. Not for long, just to sell this carcass to whoever I sold the smaller squids to, eagerly anticipating a sizable sum of money for it. I would never find out, as this was where I woke up.
The next dream took place in some strange fantasy dream city with fantastical ecclectic architecture. I was helping some girl I assume I knew move her stuff. Her apartment was laid out inside like an ice cream shop but without the ice cream.
It had that bar where all the flavors would be, with the sneeze guard. It had the desk where you pay. Just for kicks I guess. The deck in front you got in through was sagging despite being held up by chains.
It gave me a fright when it groaned as I carried something heavy across it. At last the task was finished. My reward was to lay out on the grass in the park in front of the apartment complex with her, watching fireworks go off in the night sky.
Where is this place? I seem to conjure up extravagant dream cities all the time. Are they all the same location? How could I find out? Perhaps putting too much thought into something my subconscious fabricated out of nowhere.
Hah, awesome! I hardly ever remember my dreams and when I do, I forget about them within a couple of minutes.
Try using mnemonics. As soon as you wake, choose one word that describes each of the major scenes from the dream. Only try to remember 3-4 of them. Then later you can recall that string of words and it will bring back most or all of the dream's details.
Ooh, I'll try that next time :-)
Sweet, Martian sea food. Do you think the it was for Sushi?
I dunno. I would like to know how an oceanic ecosystem which supports large predators could exist on Mars before there is enough of an atmosphere for plant life on land though.
"The Mars Daybreak" takes place on a Mars that is mostly ocean, maybe that's where I got the idea from. "Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet" has intelligent squid monsters. I think I must have taken a little from each.
yea how would that work on mars? Elon Musk get them nukes finally. Mars daybreak looks awesome, thanks for the tip.
Do you feel like your dreams take place in a certain time in this universe or an alt universe?
I think it's just a mishmash patchwork of concepts I found compelling.
GaVP was a fun show.
Wow . yes Cool @alexbeyman
