Good afternoon everyone. I’m Hakim. Today, I’d like to talk about the best moment of my life.
You all may know that I like to played football. But did you know? I play table tennis before. I started to play football when I was 13 because my close friends always play football after school every day. It made me want to try to play football. Then, I realized that this kind of sport is as fun as when I played table tennis. So I practiced it. I wanted to be better at football. One day, I went to trial to be a player in my district’s football team. But I didn’t pass it. I knew that I didn’t practiced enough. So I practice harder every day and I went to the trial again.
When the coach called the name that passed the audition, the coach called my name. But I didn’t hear it because I was talking with my friends until the coach called my name again. I said “yes” and I felt so confused because I didn’t know that why he called me. My friend told me “You were selected by coach.” I felt surprised and asked them, “Are you kidding me?” They said “No, you were really selected by coach.” At that moment, I feel very happy and can’t believe that because I have never been selected by the football coach to be one of players in football team. I’m proud of myself for trying hard all the times. Then, I asked the coach why he selected me. He said “Although you just started to play football, you practice hard every day, you always come to field before everyone else and you have talent!”
In the evening, I told my parents that I had became one of football players in that team already. They looked so surprised and hugged me. It made me really happy. When the match’s day had come, I started in the a line up. I felt so nervous because this is my first time that playing football in a match. I made many mistakes. Finally, my team lost the match. I felt so bad and I cried. All my friends in my team cheered me up. They told me “you have to practice harder every day for yourself” And my next match,I played it very well. Finally,my team won the match. I felt so good. I’m so thankful for the coach that selected me. This lesson makes me realize that there are 2 things that you should do for success. The first thing is practice. The another is to continue to do it.
