Well Steemmonsters did surprise me with the introduction of a own coin and the features behind it!
And I do have to admit that I really like this change.
Yes we can argue that it is unfair that higher ranked player do earn more DEC when winning a battle then us little shrimps at the bottom! But it is what it is!
I do earn around 30 to 50 DEC for a win. Playing around 10 to 15 battles a day, I could buy one orb pack per week!
Also with the burn of cards which are not needed I could earn some extra DEC. Suddenly I was really glad that I didn't sell a single card since the beginning of season 11. Not that I knew that something was coming, but I was hoping that it's value would increase with the integration with the TRON blockchain!
But I couldn't wait anymore untill then, so I sold some card, which I otherwise would have sold for $0.01. So hell yes, the DEC is a game changer. We did see an increase of value in the cards already!
What did I do with my DEC
Well after looking at the shop I decided to buy the Quest Potion for 1000 DEC. By doing this I will get 2 extra reward cards for completing my daily quest! And this for the next 5 quests.
To be honest this was also the only option I had with the DEC I had.
But I also bought an ORB pack. I do have to admit that the opening scenary is great, but I do wonder if this also works on the mobile phone!
What was in my pack:
- A common fire monster called Molton Ogre. Probably this won't be used a lot with a cost of 9 mana.
- A common earth monster called Goblin Chef. Only 3 mana, so it could come in handy from time to time. To bad this one doesn't have any special abilities.
- A rare life monster called Silvershield Bard. Only mana but with no attack power but also here a new ability.
- A rare death monster called Undead Archer. Again a card with a low mana cost which could come in usefull.
- The last card was a neutral common monster called Enchated Defender. A cost of 4 mana makes a rather expensive to use, but it has a shield of 4!
New abilities
Some of those orb cards do have new abilities. Let's see which ones!
- Afflication: This ability can take away the power of healing.
- Cleanse: One playing a card with the cleansing ability, the first card is healed from all negative effects caused by the opponent.
- Demoralize: Could be great when playing a life opponent or a melee attack because it does reduces the melee attack power with 1!
- Opportunity: Simple, this monster will attack the opponent's card with the lowest health!
- Repair: Like it states, it does repair the armor of the friendly monster who did have his damage to his/her armor!
- Return fire: When hit with a range attack they will return damage back to the attacker!
- Shatter: Completely destroys the armor of the monster attacked. Probably great against life decks.
- Triage: Heal the monster who did have the most damage starting from the back of the line.
They keep on changing the game and adding features! It seems like steemmonsters is more vivid than ever!
Great job done by the steemmonsters team! They do keep surprising us. I has been a long time since I did play so many battles in a day!

I have to play with my Stack of DEC but was holding to buy more potions first! I will have to catch up during the weekend!

Personally, I like the new update. Burned quite some cards to get DEC, lol.
But they've unbalanced the game even more. I didn't think that would be possible, yet, they keep surprising me in how far they're willing to go to favor the big players over the small ones. The gap is going to get wider than ever.
Btw, I managed to open an orb on my mobile phone - it looked exactly th same as on my laptop, but @anouk.nox couldn't the other day. I don't know why it worked for me and not for her.
Not sure either.. didn't try again after that.. maybe my phone is just stupid? lol

I did have to try twice - the first time didn't work.
Nice coverage of the new features. I bought one of the 25% legendary potions. I like the fact that they give you 500 charges, that is pretty impressive. I have been burning a lot of cards and I have probably bought about 10 orb packs now. It is really encouraging to see some new stuff being developed!

I got some okay ones. I have definitely been pulling more Legendaries lately. I think if you can save up for the 100% it is well worth it. Costly though...
I will remember it when that time comes. For the moment I am happy with the 2 extra reward cards. Also hoping that I will get some decent cards with the TRON seed.
Guess a combination of all potions and orb is maybe the best thing to do, but then we are talking about a lot of DEC!

I also like these new crystals. I had a lot of cards on the market, but decided to change some of them for the crystals. I have not enough to buy anything yet, but am already excited to buy my first orb.
Never thought that I would say this about steemmonsters but the future looks bright!

I picked the 5 extra card bonus to start, and have another 2500 already, this is going to be great.
My starter account will benefit so much from selling DEC and buying upgrades. Love the change right now

I hope that the integrating of the dark energy crystals brings more success and value to the steemmonsters game :) I stopped playing for a while because I don't have the time like I used to. I plan on getting back into it though once things change.
