I'm slowly getting back into running again, not that I was ever really out of it, I've been mostly back in it for the last 6 months, but feel off the wagon for about a month and I feel like I'm starting back at square one.
Yikes, maybe my little 'off the wagon' time was a bit over 1 month and more like 3, whoops.
I just went searching for this post when I finally met my short term running goals for the steem fitness challenge, I was hosting. There was a short period of time, when I would run a 25min, 5k but that was a few years ago now, so I was excited when I finally broke 27min, 30 seconds on my 5km.
It's time to get serious again, and I really think Steemit is going to be the answer.
The steem fitness challenge, is what finally got me out running again and I loved every minute of it, but despite that skipping a couple runs, turned into totally falling off the wagon.
I've been seeing all my running friends posts around here and also seeing the amazing running community here. There's the recent start of #fitnation and @runburgundy and I also just found @runningproject/ #runningproject, that looks like it's been around for a while now.
I think both those are going to be game changers for me and help me stay motivated, and maybe give me someone other then myself to compete with.
Enough blah, blah, blah and on with my pathetic run
I'll start by saying I hate running in the heat, I hate summer and I hate being warm, I'm a cold blooded, winter loving Canadian through and through.
Here is my idea of perfect running weather!
Sorry got off topic again
Here's the overview if you wanna see it yourself on Runalyze
Anyways my pace, really sucked, but of course it's excuse time. It was warm, I was pushing the running stroller and I even had to stop a couple times to try and settle the baby, who was hating his life in the running stroller. Turns out it's too smooth of a ride and he would only settle when I run through gravel sections on the side of the street or across the grass. He was much lighter then running with both my other kids in the stroller, but he was much fussier. I really gotta try to get out in the evening without them to see where my pace really sits, but for now this is my only option.
But I am really impressed and excited with Runalyze. I have been exporting my runs I log with MapMyFitness and importing them into Runalyze and it gives a much more detailed summary. I really need to get my battery changed for my heart rate monitor as well. I do have a FitBit, but it doesn't sync with my other apps, and I'm not loving the logs it produces. Oh the technology of running these days.
Anyways I have a long way to go, but feeling encouraged again!

I agree I love to run in Boston when it is pretty cold but I hate it where I live in Florida in the summer. My times are much faster in the cold.
Yeah the weather really plays a big role in my times toox
That is still a better time than I could put up!!
I wonder how your time would be if you ran in the sun down here in Florida!
My guess is it would be a faster!
I need to get runalyze as it looks pretty powerful and has some useful metrics!
Yeah it’s a pretty cool site with great analytics, as for running in Florida, i would likely die in rhe heat.
Yeah it’s a pretty cool site with grea analytics
Hah! I am cold blooded as well and love the winter runs. Good job on getting back at it. I'm trying to get this ick out of my chest and then I can get my ass out and actually get some distance in.
Runalyze kicks ass. You can log most anything you do in finer details than any other site I have used.
And thanks for another one with runningproject. Did not know about them.
yeah, every time I turn the corner something else appears, I just stubbled across #runforsteem/ @runforsteem too. Looks like alot of people think like us!
Dear @phelimint with this post you have been qualified to be an “Approved” Runner of @runningproject.
Now is your turn, transfer 1SBD or 1 STEEM as “Enrollment” Fee to @runningproject in order to enter in our “curation” list.

Thx guys, I’m very excited and transferred the fee, looking forward to it.
You are doing so far. I see this time you did 5Km in 37 minutes where as you started with 25 min on 5KM. But this will not be accurate then as you were not running alone and of course you are on your comeback. I'm also not the fittest in the pack but I try. Currently I do 3.5km in about 22 minutes. Consistency is key in this arena for sure. You miss two weeks it feels like 2 months lol. All the best further.
Thx for the support, I do need to stay consistent for sure, that would be the biggest change for sure.
The only pathetic run is the one you didn't do. ;) Welcome to the @runningproject!
Thx a lot! That’s a great way to put it!
Enrolled as an ‘’Approved’’ Runner.
@runningproject quote
Thx, very exciting about your initiative.
Great post! I will be looking into joining some of your recommend challenges. I currently host a #50pushupchallenge and #50squatchallenge if your interested in those types of challenges as well.
Hmm, that sounds interesting too, would be good motivation, I’ll check it out.
Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold
