Steemit here is my all time favorite homemade Mac and cheese recipe that I love! And I want to share it with everyone here on Steemit.
Ingredients:
2 Cups large elbow macaroni
Teaspoon salt
1 pound extra sharp cheddar cheese
2 cups American cheese or mozzarella
1 can evaporated milk approximately 2 cups
2 eggs beaten with a fork
1 cup butter
Optional: Tabasco sauce
Directions:
It is real easy all you do is cook the large elbow macaroni until they are done usually boil them for about 15-20 minutes in a pot of water put teaspoon of salt in the pot of water before the macaroni.
Drain the macaroni in a strainer. Toss the macaroni with about 3/4 cups of butter. You want to coat all the noodles with butter.
In a large baking dish coat baking dish with remaining 1/4 cup of butter, layer macaroni inside the baking dish with extra sharp cheddar cheese and American cheeses. You want to make about 4 or 5 layers so don't put all the macaroni in all at once.
Once you have made all layers to the top of the baking dish mix the evaporated milk with the 2 eggs, tabasco sauce and stir it until they are mixed together. Pour the evaporated milk mixture on top of the macaroni and cheese evenly throughout the dish. Go ahead and sprinkle on sweet paprika on top of the dish evenly through the entire dish.
Bake on 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 35-40 minutes or until the cheese is all the way melted and it looks evenly cooked. Enjoy!!!!
