It's not that they believe that the world is flat that's the problem. It's our reaction to the delusion they have. There will always be a small body of people who are delusional. And there are some people who are wilfully contrarian, (usually because their only achievement in life is to be contrarian, they have nothing of value to offer otherwise).
delusional people need help, (not ridicule), and contrarians need to be ignored. Either way there is no point in engaging in facts with these people.
