Tony Luczak, PGA., My nephew jack and I all had a GREAT time with a great group of guys at the recent Williamsburg, Be Better Golf 2 day School. We were sold out with 7 golfers from as close as Fairfax, VA and as far as Hawaii.
It was a skillied group, most guys were either single digit or mid teen handicaps.Everyone came with a lot of thought provoking questions and talking golf with them was a lot of fun. It was interesting that 2 of the golfers showed up with serious FAT shot problems and by the end of the school we were able to get them lined up.
Be Better Golf schools are very intense, the work load is a lot but for the king of golf FANATICS that come out we all loved it. We were on the range and course from 8 am until 7pm both days and at time is was VERY hot.
I particularly enjoyed running the Short Game Gamification drills with the group, showing them some of the tour practice routines and how to turn your short game practice into little games that you can keep track of. Amazingly on Day 2 everyone beat their short game scores from day 1.
One golfer named Mike came to the school completely UNABLE to hit his lob wedge (every time he had tried he would flub it or shank it.) We fixed his stance, showed him a few feel drills and the next day he way chipping so well with his lob wedge he ended up winning the short game contest in the morning and Mike was the runner up in the championship match short game of HORSE. He was so excited.
A lot of the guys were interested in learning more about my "Rock and Push Style of putting" One of our students from DC, Clint, had such a horrible set up he would routinely have above 38 putts a round. We changed his alignment, got him releasing the putter in a different patter and Clint was so happy he had a permagrin the rest of the school becuase he said he couldn't wait to go home and have his buddies see him putt now.
At the end of the two days walking down the range the impacts sounded SO PURE and even better the self talk we perfect, when they hit bad shots they knew WHY and How to fix it. There was a great positivism at the end, it was really rewarding to see.
Huge thanks to the Group of guys for coming out!
I think our next school is going to be in California, in LATE AUGUST. It will be another small class size like this one so if you would like to get on the list, email me at [email protected]
Great. Good one. Thank you for sharing
