Well, it's my first post here - excited to join up and share some of the things that happen in my life, most likely with a focus on guitars but I partake in many hobbies so we shall see.
Last night my new Ibanez arrived - RG370 AHMZ, purchased from Revolution Music in Brisbane, Australia.
I decided on this guitar based on it's relative rarity in the lower tier Ibanez range - Ash instead of the usual Basswood for the body and a really nice Maple fretboard.
After pulling it out of it's cardboard box, it definitely needs a setup but is still very playable. Ibanez have changed the stud system for the floating bridge so I need to double check before I go and wreck anything.
Frets are mildly oxidised after the boat ride, certainly not as bad as when I have received guitars from China but they likely sit in a warehouse in Aussie for a lot longer as well.
I think the standout difference from previous Ibanez RGs is how well the bridge will flutter when you flick the bar - my last RG was a Bio Armour 420 and I genuinely think Ibanez have made some nice changes to their bridge systems.
The colour looks great and the combination of blue and the natural maple fretboard/black headstock is stunning.
Very pleased to add it to the family.
I work tonight but will post a vid over the weekend for some tones.

Thanks for reading.
Ibanez guitars have a sweet sound, very rich and distinct... And I love the aesthetics on this great instrument! Would love to hear you play someday.
I 100% agree to support you on this ..looks gorgeous !!
I wonder how long it will be until I dent or scratch it... I at least keep this one in a hard case, should be ok.
Welcome to Steemit, looking forward to hearing you play.
Cheers :)
Welcome to steemit ;) As a music lover I'll be looking forward to some covers or originals!
Thanks for the welcome, I generally record my own stuff and post it on soundcloud.com/postalpro I haven't attempted to play any of my compositions live to camera but it's a great idea... watch this space.
Brings to mind the guitar collection of my eldest brother, he's been playing I think since I was about 8 or 9... Close to 30 years now
Yeah I have been slogging away at it off and on for 30 years as well, started at 10. Takes a lot of work to get past plateaus and sometimes it seems impossible but for the most part I don't worry about technique now, composition and finding the time to work at things are the real challenges when you are raising a family.
I wish you the best in your journey :)
Thank you, it's good to get encouraging comments - on youtube I get... silence haha.
Welcome to Steemit, then! It's a nice looking guitar, for sure. When you post a test video, I hope you'll consider playing a few notes with your previous guitar for comparison.
Not today ras, although there is quite a big difference as I have been playing strat/telecaster style guitars for the last year. Certainly I will look to do a comparison at some stage.
Welcome. Looking forward for the video 👍🙂
Up now, nothing spectacular but mornings and I don't get along.
Hello and Welcome a music lover myself...
The universal language :) Thanks for the welcome.
Welcome! Nice guitar!
Thank you - it's the first new Ibanez I have owned, the few others I have had were 2nd hand, really happy with it.
Greetings and welcome! I love the colors!!

Welcome to Steemit and can't wait to see the video

https://steemit.com/music/@outoftune/quick-demo-of-ngd-rg370-ahmz It's there, not amazing but just me noodling for a bit.
Wow, love the colors on that one! I have an old Ibanez RG270 that I've had for about 14 years. Mine is just plain black though. And a bit rusty here and there. :)
I think it's a better deal than the prestige RG652AHM, can swap pickups and still come in well under the 652 cost. Overall, I am very lucky and have a few guitars that I love to play (and an 8 string I am still working on haha). Would love to see a photo of your axe, sounds very similar to my first Ibanez except it was green.

Definitely a nice blend of colours and woods - really heavy though, even my Cedar Telecaster isn't as hefty.
Welcome to steemit :D By the way, I used to want to play the guitar this is kick ass!
Never too late to start! Even the Ukulele is amazing fun if you learn with a couple of friends or your children.
