Yes, it's a big change! Basically you get the same performance in 2018 for half the price, or less. Amazingly, this is true across the board - from budget CPUs to the high end. 2018 will be quieter, for sure. There'll be Ryzen+ early in the year. Intel is all out of options, my guess is they will move from 6 cores to 8 cores for the $350 Core i7 part.
