Paldea Adventure Chest Pokemon TCG Cards Haul

in #haul3 days ago

Hi there. In this post I showcase this Paldea Adventure Chest sealed product for the Pokemon trading card game. Normally Gamestop prices their Pokemon cards sealed product higher than the local card stores but there are exceptions. Gamestop Canada had a pre-Black Friday sale on this product. Instead of 59.99 CAD it was 39.99 CAD.

Box Pictures

The Paldea Adventure Chest sealed product comes in a rather large box. I say large because you get a several promo cards, one sticker sheet, a few accessories and 6 Scarlet & Violet booster packs.

I took pictures from my Redmi Note 13 Pro of the sealed box before opening.

Inside The Box Contents

I got this product mostly for the promo cards. The Sprigatito ex promo card on its own is 5 CAD at one card store I usually go to. That colourful Pikachu card is 10 CAD at another vendor or sold out at other places. Usually one booster pack is 5 CAD so 6 packs is 30 CAD, two promo cards at 15 plus other items. The price at 39.99 CAD is a good value buy that was on sale at my local Gamestop Canada store.

More details on this product can be found here.

More pictures of inside contents including a mini Pikachu plush, sticker sheet and more promo cards.

With that Pikachu card it is not fully centered the right border side is a bit thicker than the left side. This Promo Pikachu card looks really nice up close.

Sprigatito ex Promo card is included too.

The Gamestop store also provided a promotional Terapagos holgraphic card with the Pokemon Horizons stamp on it. That was a nice bonus. I did not know about it. I don't know the market value of this card. My estimate is 5 CAD at least.

Pack Opening Results

From the packs you get the following.

  • 1 Scarlet & Violet Base Set
  • 1 Paldea Evolved
  • 2 Obsidian Flames
  • 2 Paradox Rift

This sealed product was from early 2024. No packs from Temporal Forces (Mar/Apr 2024), Twilight Masquerade, Stellar Crown or the recent set Surging Sparks. Prior to opening the 6 packs I had no expectation. I have most of the playable cards and some illustration rares from the sets.

Here are pictures of the pulled cards. The rare card is on top of each pack. My best pull was the Pidgeot ex. A nice pull in terms of art and playability even though I have multiple Pidgeot ex already.

Playable cards from the packs were:

  • Professor Sada's Vitality
  • Scream Tail
  • Town Store (Stadium)
  • Superior Energy Retrieval
  • Switch
  • Pidgeot ex
  • Artazon
  • Morpeko (Sort of)

A Buy Recommendation For Collecting

Given the sale price of 40 CAD it is something worth considering as a collector or for a gift to a young kid. The box is unnecessarily large given that the items inside are not big. There is a bit of empty space in the box. When it came to finding the packs in the box I almost got confused. I later found out that the 6 booster packs are hidden in the front.

Gamestop is not my number one choice when it comes to Pokemon cards. Every once in a while they have good sales and prices on a few of their sealed product.

Lucario playmat not included in the product.
