hello my friends. doctor steemit is here again now 21000sp power more 2$ upvote makes the profitable post for you and you can get the information about the Natural Expectorants.
What is an expectorant?
A cough can affect your work and sleep, and it can disturb others around you, too.
An expectorant is something that helps loosen mucus so you can cough it up. It does this by increasing the water content of the mucus, thinning it out, and making your cough more productive.
An expectorant won’t treat the infection that’s causing your symptoms, but it will help you get a good night’s sleep and make you feel a little better while your immune system does its job.
HONEY:
honey is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a possible treatment for coughs and colds. This food product has the power to soothe the throat and calm irritations and alleviate the symptoms of a cough. Further, it has antioxidant properties and increases the production of other substances called cytokines, to which is attributed its anti-microbial action.LICORICE:
Licorice root has outstanding expectorant qualities but that is not all. Licorice can also help soothe an irritated and inflamed throat and also suppress your coughing. On a note of caution, it should not be used by people with high blood pressure.
The best way to take licorice for your cough is in the form of a tea.
3.STEAM TREATMENT:
A simple and all-natural way to loosen up chest congestion is to take a hot, steamy shower. Warm and moist air can help relieve a stubborn cough by loosening mucus in the airway. You can also try using a humidifier to add moisture to the air you breathe.
4.ESSENTIAL OILS:
Essential oils, used in aromatherapy, work in two ways:1) Being antibacterial and antiviral, they can directly attack germs and kill them at the root.2) They stimulate our immune systems to be better prepared at fighting off disease before they have a chance to set up shop in our bodies. When it comes to respiratory conditions, some essential oils work better than others.
5.HERBAL TEA:
Expectorants help loosen congestion in the lungs by reducing the thickness of mucus, making coughing more productive and clearing the lungs. Expectorant herbs are very important in the treatment of coughs, congestion and bronchitis, to the extent that the term is sometimes incorrectly applied to any cough medicine.
6.CHICKEN SOUP:
Fluids in general can help relieve your cold and warm fluids like chicken broth or soup can help get rid of the mucus in your respiratory system. Not to mention that it tastes great.
7.Peppermint (Mentha piperita):
is used often as a flavoring for gum, toothpaste, and tea, but it also could be just what you’ve been looking for to treat your cough. Peppermint contains a compound known as menthol. Menthol may help thin mucus and loosen phlegm.
Peppermint tea is widely available in stores and is considered safe. You can also simply add a few fresh peppermint leaves to hot water to make your own tea.
8.Ivy leaf:
Given ivy leaf’s ability to dilate bronchioles and relaxing the airways it is an ideal herb to use for people with breathing difficulties. Since it moisturises the airways, by increasing surfactant, it can help soothe a dry and irritated respiratory system. This often manifests as a persistent dry cough.
