The separate Healthy sections in Supermarkets

in #health2 years ago

These days in Supermarkets when we visit, we always see that there is a separate section for labelling Healthy Foods & Organic Foods. What does this mean, that besides these foods all the other foods in the supermarket are unhealthy foods. These separate labelled Healthy & Organic foods again come at a higher price. Is it not the Government responsibility to provide Healthy Organic food overall and why does one have to pay a premium price for Healthy Organic foods.

It just amazes me to see that so clearly the messages go out loud to people that all the foods that we are consuming are majorly unhealthy then be it fruits, vegetables or processed foods. As the mass consumption of foods increase so does the mass production of foods increase, bringing GMO foods into picture, which are full of chemicals and as the word itself mentions genetically modified.

Some decades back a lot of families were self-sufficient, people would grow their own food and consume, it was because majorly people lived in rural lands. In the last few decades majority of these people have moved to urban cities. People have stopped growing their foods. Everyone has got used to the comfort of supermarkets and hence we have stopped putting efforts in growing our foods. The soil is getting depleted, there is quick deterioration in the minerals in soil and as a result of all of this the food that is harvested is also of poor quality which we majorly get in the supermarkets. I normally like to go to these small farmers market where individuals come to sell their home-grown food. It may not be the best and organic but it would still be better than the wholesale stuff in the big markets.

It just makes me laugh sometimes, that the Governments across the world and WHO during Covid times were all so suddenly concerned about people's health and forcing vaccination to everyone. But here openly on a daily basis every where around there is so much of unhealthy foods being sold but they have no eyes for it.

Even when I browse through the healthy section and see the contents of the food there is sugar, there is seed oils and what not ingredients. My hubby likes to eat bread, he goes to to the healthy section to buy bread, and when I see the ingredients there is Sugar, seed oils everything in it, so then on what basis it is healthy. The definition of healthy itself is very misguiding. Just mentioning Gluten free does not make the food healthy, what are the other ingredients in it also matter. Foods are labeled as Sugar free, Gluten free, but then there are many other ingredients in it which brings it nutritional level down. When we buy eggs, there are so many varieties of eggs available in the market now, only the free-range eggs are good, other than that all the other eggs will have a lesser value. Though one may be better than the other. Some may mention that the birds are not caged but then what is the food given to them matters. If they are grain fed again, they lose the nutritional value.

Some years down the line may be Organic food will also lose its value, because if you dwell deeper into how the organic foods are grown then possibly all the foods are not organic. What will be the definition of healthy food then 10 years down the line?

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

Sometimes I see it as the government trying to manipulate and control people. Things could be funny when they separate food without a reason based on healthiness. I believe there should be an addressing to state reasons behind those foods classified as healthy and unhealthy.
How does the food we have been eating for years suddenly becomes unhealthy? .

Thanks for sharing this with us

You are right, but what amazes me is if they label a section as healthy food, which means the rest of the food is unhealthy, then why should they be sold in the first place :-)

its all a marketing scheme to get ppl spending more for organic, i have even see in very few small boutique markets, yes those exist, where they label Aquaponics Vegetables, its insane, me i dont fall for that, since i change to cero carbs way of eating im heavy into vegetables so i just go to the regular market and buy the best they have but dont fall into the labeling scheme, thx for sharing ✌️

And one fine day this whole organic thing will become outdated and there will be something new to sell under the name of organic, but who knows how organic it is. You are right, these are labelling schemes and marketing gimmicks.
