Xtremely Satisfying: A Delicious Stop at Xtremely Xpresso Cafe in Baguio

in Hive Food5 hours ago

For me, traveling is all about exploring both the place and its food. I often try local dishes, but I also enjoy sampling how local cafes or restaurants put their own spin on popular dishes. It’s a great way to get a taste of the local palate.

Yesterday, we visited a place called Xtremely Xpresso Cafe to try their western-style food and coffee!

**Here’s the corrected version:

The cafe is located at 3 Brent Rd, Baguio (2600 Benguet).**

According to the staff, the cafe was established in 2019 during the pandemic. Hearing that really impressed me because they were able to thrive during one of the toughest times for businesses to survive or grow.

In addition to strong business management, I think their location is also a big plus. It’s about a 5-minute drive from the city center and within walking distance of the city’s major shopping mall.

Yesterday, we had the chance to dine at the cafe in the mid-afternoon. We chose that time because I was worried it might get too crowded, so we decided to go during the off-peak hours.

From the parking area, the only entrance is on the left side of the building. The entrance is shared between the hotel and the cafe. As I walked along the terrace leading to the dining area, I immediately felt the pleasant ambiance of the place. The interior design made me realize that it was once an old house that had been refurbished to function as a cafe.

The owner is an old soul, and I could see that in their collection of vintage yet functional items. It was so cool to see the wall clock, a picture tube TV, and the jukebox playing music during my visit.

Although there were still available tables inside the dining area, we decided to dine in the outdoor section. The cool weather in Baguio City was irresistible! 😁

The menu may be on a single sheet of paper, but the selection is probably the most extensive I’ve seen so far. They offer a wide variety of Western dishes, all of which look appetizing, making it difficult for me to choose what to order.

After thoroughly checking the menu, I finally made my choice. I went for a Bacon Cheeseburger, a Coffee Americano, and a slice of Choco Nutella cake 😋.

Initially, I thought my order was just the right amount, as the pricing made me assume the portions would be smaller. But I was pleasantly surprised—the servings were very generous! 🤩 The burger alone had a quarter-pound patty, a thick brioche bun, potato chips, and fresh vegetables on the side. A cheese sauce was also provided separately, allowing me to add just the right amount to my burger.

This burger feels like a steal for the price! It costs just PHP 280 (around USD 4.83), and it’s this satisfying 😋.

The next thing I want to highlight is the Coffee Americano, which was truly something special.

First off, since Baguio City is part of Benguet province, they proudly promote their locally grown coffee. Being in the highlands, the region has the perfect climate for cultivating some of the best coffee beans.

This mug of Coffee Americano was made from locally grown beans from somewhere in Benguet, and it had a truly unique taste. I loved its nutty, earthy, and chocolatey notes. But what really caught me off guard was how strong it was! I’m used to the fruity and lighter Americano in Singapore, so this was a completely new experience for me 😁—and I loved it!

They also add a personal touch to each mug by writing funny coffee-related quotes on the side, like this one: "My blood type is coffee." They may not be factual, but they’re definitely entertaining! 😂

Lastly, the dessert! This slice of Choco Nutella cake is the kind I could eat regularly. It’s not overly sweet—in fact, it has a well-balanced ratio of cake to icing, which I really appreciate, especially since I’m cutting down on my sugar intake. 😋

If I get another chance to visit Baguio City, I’ll definitely return to Xtremely Xpresso Cafe to try more of their food. It offers a great balance between quality and price. For two people, we spent only about PHP 1,040 (around USD 18)—such a great value for money!
