For candy lovers in general, finding a store that sells dulce de leche would be like arriving in paradise. But if I told you that I found a place where you can not only find it in its traditional form, but also mixed with other delicious flavors, would you believe me?
Both inside the San Telmo market, in the Argentine capital, and in one of its surrounding streets, you will find a store that you can easily identify by its official ambassador: a cute little black and white cow.
The best thing about this place is that they have a tasting table, where there is a sample of the different types of candy they offer, and of course I was able to try some of the ones that caught my attention.
There is a container with some sticks that are used to take the sample, which are for a single use, and another to deposit the ones that have already been used, all to maintain the hygiene of the samples, and also of the people who use them, so as not to repeat any of them.
After seeing the whole offer, I wanted to try them all! but I decided on the banana, the walnut and the coffee ones. I couldn't really tell the difference in the first one, as the flavors were confusing. With the walnut one, it was a delicious mixture, similar to nutella, which although it is made with hazelnuts, it had a similar texture, so it would be a good substitute.
But when I tasted the dulce de leche with coffee, the experience was on another level. I must confess that before making it I had my doubts, since being a coffee fan, I thought it would be extremely sweet, but on the contrary, it turned out to be a delicate flavor, in which the protagonist is the coffee.
There were others that also caught my attention, such as the mixture with coconut, and another with mint, but since I was not planning to buy any, I was embarrassed to do so, so they were left for another day when I go there, or when I have the money to bring some home.
If you like dulce de leche, coming to this store is really like coming to the store of your dreams, so I recommend it for those who visit Buenos Aires and want to try something delicious, or want to take a gastronomic souvenir of the country.
Para los amantes del dulce en general, encontrar una tienda que venda dulce de leche, sería como llegar al Paraíso. Pero si te digo que encontré un lugar en el que no solo puedes encontrarlo en su manera tradicional, sino también mezclados con otros sabores deliciosos, ¿me creerías?
Tanto en el interior del mercado de San Telmo, en la capital Argentina, como en una de sus calles aledañas, encuentras una tienda que fácilmente puedes identificar por su embajadora oficial: una linda vaquita blanco y negro.
Lo mejor de este local, es que tienen una mesa de degustación, en la cual hay una muestra de los diferentes tipos de dulce que ofrecen, y en la que por supuesto pude probar algunos de los que más me llamaron la atención.
Hay un envase con unos palillos que se usan para sacar la muestra, los cuales son de un único uso, y otro para depositar los que ya fueron utilizados, todo para mantener la higiene de las muestras, y también de las personas que los usan, de manera de no repetir alguno.
Luego de ver toda la oferta, ¡quería probarlos todos! pero me decidí por el de banana, el de nuez y el de café. Del primero, realmente no logré notar la diferencia, pues se confundían los sabores. Con el de nuez fue una mezcla deliciosa, similar a la nutella, que aunque es hecha con avellanas, tenía una textura parecida, por lo que resultaría un buen sustituto.
Pero al probar el dulce de leche con café, la experiencia fue de otro nivel. Debo confesar que antes de hacerlo tuve mis dudas, ya que al ser fanática del café, pensé que sería extremadamente dulce, pero al contrario, resultó ser un sabor delicado, en el que el protagonista es el café.
Habían otros también que me llamaron la atención, como la mezcla con coco, y otro, con menta, pero como no estaba en mis planes comprar nada, me dio vergüenza hacerlo, así que quedaron para otro día que pase por ahí, o cuando vaya con el dinero necesario para traerme alguno a casa.
Si te gusta el dulce de leche, venir a esta tienda es realmente, como llegar a la tienda de tus sueños, por lo que la recomiendo para quienes visiten Buenos Aires y deseen probar algo delicioso, o quieran llevarse algún recuerdo gastronómico del país.

So many varieties of dulce de leche! I don't remember so many when I was living in South America! But it has been a few years now..

Te recomiendo, el dulce de leche con coco. Es delicioso y además se torna adictivo. Es una visita obligada a todos las tiendas donde venden dulce de leche con sus deliciosas combinaciones. Les quedaron estupendas. Saludos, amiga.
