The Sixers season has been hectic on and off the court. Sixers sre struggling big time dropping to 1-4 Saturday against the Grizzlies, and two of the team's three stars have been out in Joel Embiid and new comer Paul George. Embiid's injury/reason for staying out has been pretty vague. Sometimes it's a knee thing, and sometimes its said it's protocol for him to sit due to his injury history? The Sixers were even fined because of all of the shadyness. Embiid shoved some reporter the other day for a rude article involving Embiid's family. Things are just really strange.
The idea to save Embiid for the playoffs is not a terrible one, but if the Sixers keep LOSING and MISS the playoffs, this grand plan starts looking stupid real quick.
Well tonight for the first time in 2024 and ever in the regular season, the Sixers will have Paul George on the court. I'm like ninety-seven percent sure anyway. So 2/3 of the team's main stars will be on the court. The Sixers will need him too since they'll be in the desert 🏜️ to face bonafide superstars in Devin Booker and Kevin Durant. The tandem has led the Suns to an excellent 5-1 record. The Sixers would be super screwed without George. It will still be difficult but now the Sixers have a fairly legit chance to win. Let's hope the Sixers show up ready to play because if they don't, they'll be 1-5. Not good.
It will be a fun game though, despite all the gloom around the team. Sixers playing a star studded team out west, fun stuff. I'm excited to see if Maxey/George can match up vs Booker/Durant!
Plus, Paul George has a very strong case for the Hall of Fame if he stacks up a few more high level seasons towards the tail end of his career and maybe WINS A CHIP in Philly! There's been some big names in and out of Philly, Jimmy Butler and James Harden and a few others. But it's still cool that a legend like George is in the City of Brotherly Love!
