The international break has come and gone, we sure were treated to some thrillers. We saw some good results too, with the big hitters enjoying a good day at the office. At the AFCON qualifier, we had some surprises too as Ghana failed to qualify, failing to win any of their six group stage games. This is only their second absence since 1992 for the black stars. Club football resumes today, and there is so much to look forward to as there is an early kick off, and off course, heavy weight clashes. So let's analyze and talk on some of the games.
Leicester Vs Chelsea
- Saturdays early kickoff, and the first match of the gameweek sees my beloved Chelsea travel to the king power stadium to take on Leicester. Major talking point would be Chelsea's head coach, Enzo Maresca visiting his former employees. Chelsea look the heavy favourites as they travel to a Leicester team out of form. Steve Cooper's team won only one of their last five PL game and sit 15th on the table. Chelsea on the other hand would be fired up, after a cracking one - one draw at Old Trafford. A potentially exciting game this one.
Arsenal Vs Nottingham Forest
- This sure promises to be a good game as both teams have something to prove. Nuno Espirito's men have been firing on all cylinders this season, wining five of their eleven games so far and only losing one. Coming back off an impressive three nil win against West Ham last time out would also be a major morale boost, and sitting at fifth place on the log; three points away from second. The gunners, on the other hand have had a torrid start to the season, picking up only one point from their last three PL games. Mikel Arteta would be hoping to get his boys up and running again.
Man City Vs Tottenham
- A fixture with so many exciting games in recent times. The heavy weight game of the week is the last game of the weekend. Pep Guradiola's team welcome Spurs to the Etihad. The Citizens suffered a shock defeat away to twelve placed Bournemouth last time out, and would be looking to get back to winning ways as Liverpool opened up a five points gap at the top. Tottenham on the other hand, currently sit tenth on the log and have had a very unstable campaign so far. They would be looking to salvage something at the Etihad. What a game this would be.
Southampton Vs Liverpool
- The League leaders take on bottom of the pile Southampton in a game of opposite sides. With the Reds heavy favourites for the clash, and would ve looking to extend/maintain their foothold at the top of the table. Liverpool's head coach, Arne Slot came in and has quickly taken his place in the team, breaking numerous records and turning his team into world beaters. The Reds have won four of their last five games and don't look like relenting anytime soon
Ipswich Vs Manchester United
- A new Era at Manchester United begins as new head coach, Ruben Amorim would be taking charge of his first game for the Red devils against newly promoted side Ipswich. It does seem something new and great is brewing at Old Trafford as the Red Devils won their last two games in all competition with a combined five goals and conceded none. Seventeenth placed Ipswich will have their hands full as they welcome United, wining only just one game all season.
