RE: Someone is stealing my figs...

in Feathered Friends • 3 years ago

I ate the first ones! But it was something like 35 C today so I had to cool them off 🤣 so unfortunately not from tree-to-mouth but close enough.

We have big trees in the area so they flock together here. And I have a tree that makes lovely berries for them so they flock to that one. I just need to have my camera ready. And funny enough, they love the big palm trees. There are various worms they feast on. I will attach a photograph I uploaded on here a while ago:

Bird melts into the green, nice capture with evidence of enjoying worms. Birds are hyperactive in the heat at the moment, enjoy some chilled figs or get up very early 😆

I managed to pick a whole bowl! And the breeze helped cool them down a bit. Shame yes, poor birds in this heat! I try to put some water out.

Birds have a small pond to bathe in here, heat has been unbelievable one has to help the animals as well. Glad you got to enjoy some of the figs.

Indeed! I always worry in this heat about them. Plus, we had some nasty wild fires that destroyed almost half of the mountain. I feel so bad for the wildlife that suffered. Nature is really cruel.

Wildlife definitely taking a knock with wildfires, birds here just disappear around 10am return at 4pm.

Nature is cruel, last fires from lightning I believe not humans for a change.

True. It is so sad. We can only watch and manage the destruction afterward. Or that is my hope.
