Hello one and all,
I can't believe I have yet to actually write a post on hive..
I have been producing and uploading the podcast.. But that has shifted from the ecovillage idea to.. other topics. ;)

It is time therefore, I feel, for a little update about what's been going on with us, basically since this whole Corona business started up..

Well, things have been moving forward. We obviously have not had any visitors coming to help during this time, so It's been me and Lila, and of course little Tao, working on the land.

We had a major storm that knocked down about 40 mature Pine trees, and so just clearing that has been a major job.
As you can see, our electric chainsaw has finally arrived!! so we have started slowly cutting them down to size.

The other big project we're working on (for those of you who still remember..) is our Tipi!! It has finally arrived, along with the Linseed oil we ordered!
So now, everything is just waiting for us to, get to it!!

It certainly is slow progress, we get to the land one day a week each for work, and the weekend we spend there as a family, getting what ever we can get done.. Being a family, parenting a one year old, doesn't leave a huge amount of time to work on the land. But all that does, is teach us the virtue of patience...

I would obviously like to just be on the land already... with our Tipi, solar power, and a small kitchen. That's the dream...
But there is still time. And a lot of work ahead..
just flattening the hillside to start building up the floor took quite a good few hours of work..

But there's nothing quite like the satisfaction of finishing it all by yourself..

Lila is in charge of the poles for the Tipi. We're using the Eucalyptus we have on the land. Chop it down, cut to size, clean, strip, and oil.
18 poles in all, we have 7 in the works so far..
As I said, it's slow progress.
But this seems to go well with my reinvigorated interest in Daosim.
Slow and steady might not win the race, but the scenic route is so much more enjoyable..

Hope to update more soon, just trying to get back into it.
Remember to enjoy yourselves, and have a wonderful day all.

Congratulations, your post has been selected to be included in my weekly Sustainability Curation Digest for the Minnow Support Project.

Oh my gosh! Thank you so much!!
And I'm happy to see another great curation digest from you.. Didn't know about this one. Thx!!

Looks like you’re making great progress. Everything right with slow if you ask me... it’s the journey that counts!

Did you/ do you rent in the local area btw? I was looking at land prices earlier today and have the urge to head out ASAP and buy something... I was just wondering how cheaply I cld rent something in the interim for a couple of months. Any idea of the rough price? !

Great to see your progress!

Good To See You!

It's good to be back.. Been too long..
