Did my grandmother's health advice work? [ENG/ESP]

Hello everyone, at some point in our lives, while we were feeling unwell, we had our grandmother give us some advice or a prescription for some medicine with natural elements to cure the condition we had, or if not, she shared with our parents several quantities of recipes that, although some were very successful in their effectiveness, others were very crazy, even hard to believe. For this reason, since this week we are proposed to talk about those curious, funny and strange medical recipes, as well as to see if they worked or not, I thought it would be a good idea to comment and share a little of what my grandmother has prescribed and how effective it has been or not.

To begin, I must say that in my family there have been several types of pathologies and conditions in various members and one of the people who has been prescribed some "miracle" medicine or prescription the most is my sister, who has bronchial asthma, so since she was little she has had to deal with many and many prescriptions that are not only given to her by her family but by third parties and others.

Hola a todos en algún momento de nuestra vida mientras teníamos algún malestar tuvimos a nuestra abuela dándonos algún consejo o receta para algún medicamento con elementos naturales para curar la afección que tuviéramos, o si no compartir con nuestros padres varias cantidades de recetas que si bien algunas eran muy acertadas en su efectividad, otras eran muy alocadas incluso difíciles de creer .Por esto ya que está semana nos proponen a hablar sobre esas recetas médicas curiosas, divertidas y raras así como ver si funcionaban o no, me pareció muy bien comentar y compartir un poco de lo que mi abuela ha recetado y que tan eficaz ha sido o no.

Para comenzar debo decir que en mi familia ha habido varios tipos de patologías y condiciones en varios miembros y a una de las personas que más le ha recetado algún medicamento o receta "milagrosa" es a mi hermana la cual tiene asma bronquial por lo que desde pequeña ha lidiando con muchas y muchas recetas que no solo le dan la familia sino terceros y demás .

One of these given by my grandmother consisted of taking an egg, passing it over the entire body with intention and then placing it in a container with urine which had to stay on the ceiling so that little by little it would cure all the asthma, this is something very strange and but curiously my mother made my sister do it so imagine how that container must be on the ceiling of my house, and of course obviously it is something that did not work since she still has that asthma.

Another of the recipes was to catch a small lizard of those that were in the houses eating various insects to then take it to the pan and fry it to eat it since they said that this could completely cure any asthma condition that the person had and clearly it is something that she did not do although my mother was very tempted since my sister usually has this asthma sometimes emotionally and she tends to get weak from almost everything.

Uno de estos dado por mi abuela consistía en tomar un huevo , pasarlo por todo el cuerpo intensionando y posteriormente colocarlo en un envase con orina el cual debía quedarse en el techo para que poco a poco fuera curando todo el asma, esto es algo muy raro y lo de pero curiosamente mis mamá hizo que mi hermana lo realizará así que imaginen como debe de estar ese envase en el techo de mi casa, y claro obviamente es algo que no funcionó ya que ella aún tiene ese asma.

Otra de las recetas era agarrar un pequeño lagartija de esos que eran en las casas comiendo insectos variados para luego llevarlo al sartén y freírlo para comerlo ya que decían que esto podía curar por completo cualquier afección de asma que tuviera la persona y claramente es algo que ella no hizo aunque mi mamá estuvo muy tentada ya que mi hermana suele tener está asma aveces de manera emocional y se suele poner débil por casi todo .

Another example is that my grandmother suffered for a time from the so-called spurs. When an x-ray was performed, it showed that she had 6 on each foot and at that time, which was a few years ago, they used to ask her how she walked, since obviously that is something that makes it impossible to walk because of the pain. Well, this is where the medical prescription comes into play, which was to make a template or mold of the person's feet with prickly pears and take them to dry in the sun, which she did and I don't know if it worked or not, but she doesn't have any discomfort currently with that condition.

Así como esos dos también está lo de tomar manteca de raya para calmarla y diversos métodos uno más alocado que otro como el de tomar agua con un pedacito de carbón adentro que si bien hasta yo he tomado para el estómago por órdenes de mi abuela también dicen que sirve para el asma. Y como dije anteriormente no solo mi hermana sino mi abuela y tíos también han recibido diversos métodos para todo .

Otro ejemplo es que mi abuela sufrio un tiempo de los llamados espolónes al realizarle una radiografía está arrojó que tenía 6 en cada pie y para ese tiempo que fue hace unos cuantos años le solían preguntar cómo caminaba ya que obviamente eso es algo que por el dolor te hace imposible el caminar y bueno acá es donde toma protagonismo la receta médica que era hacer una plantilla o molde de los pies de la persona con tunas y llevarlas a secar al sol cosa que hizo y no se si funciono o no pero no tiene molestias actualmente con esa condición.

My uncle, on the other hand, has an inflammation of the prostate and has followed recipes from my grandmother and other older people, which range from eating fruit seeds, making water with all kinds of branches and leaves and eating fruit mixed with all kinds of things, so I must say that this, instead of helping, has often caused him sand, causing his urinary tract to become blocked several times. Of course, he is already seeing a doctor, but it is a lesson I am leaving him.

As you can see, there are many recipes that are usually made in my house and sometimes some are simple teas made from lemon balm leaves that I make myself just for the pleasure of it and others that go beyond all limits and surprise a lot, some from my grandmother and others from strangers, which is very common to hear every time I go to their house. Alternative medicine or this knowledge from our grandparents is not all bad, some are very effective and cure us or relieve us a lot, but others leave us totally surprised.

Mi tío por otra parte tiene una inflamación en la próstata y así mismo ha seguido tanto recetas por parte de mi abuela como de otras personas de mayor edad los cuales van desde comer semillas de frutas, hacer aguas con todo tipo de ramas y hojas y comer frutas mezcladas con todo tipo de cosas, por lo que debo decir que esto en ves de ayudar muchas veces le generó arenilla haciendo que se le tapara varias veces las vías urinarias, claro está que ya está atendiendose con un médico pero es una lección que le dejo .

En fin como pueden ver hay muchas recetas que en mi casa suelen hacer y que aveces algunas son simples te de hojas de toronjil que yo misma hago ya por el gusto y otras que pasan todo límite y sorprenden mucho, algunas por parte de mi abuela y otras por extraños lo cual es muy habitual escuchar cada vez que voy a su casa. La medicina alternativa o estos conocimientos de nuestros abuelos no todos son malos algunos son muy efectivos y nos curan o alivian mucho pero otros nos dejan totalmente sorprendidos.
