The Firefly Larva

in Photography3 years ago

Hello Hivers!

This is an interesting looking insect. It is a female firefly larva.
It has a striking pink and black segmented body and its mouth is circular and edged with what looked like illuminated blue and red LED lights. It rolled up when I first touched it but after waiting a few minutes it unrolled and I could take these full photos of it. I am constantly reminded of how amazing nature is!

That is quite the bugger alright! It is always amazing how many shapes and sizes nature comes in!

I know right, everything is worth a closer look in life ;)

Thanks. I'am taking photos and videos of bugs (insects) all the time. :) Someday I'll share them, this website looks like a best place for it.
