“Why We Sleep” (Matthew Walker) has drawn criticism from Alexey Guzey, an independent researcher with a background in economics, …

Matthew Walker's "Why We Sleep" Is Riddled with Scientific and Factual Errors says Alexey Guzey (https://guzey.com/books/why-we-sleep/)
But some of Guzey’s arguments are not correct, for example :
– No, the World Health Organization never declared a sleep loss epidemic
There was a study about Sleep Problems: An Emerging Global Epidemic? Findings From the INDEPTH WHO-SAGE Study Among More Than 40,000 Older Adults From 8 Countries Across Africa and Asia
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3397790/
– Also, no – sleeping less than 6 hours a night does not double your risk of cancer
From the web page of Mayo clinic: Sleep deprivation may decrease production of these protective cytokines. In addition, infection-fighting antibodies and cells are reduced during periods when you don’t get enough sleep.

The book of Matthew Walker”Why we sleep” opened my eyes regards the abuse of caffeine and other drugs (alcohol, medical drugs, ..) and the impact on sleep.
I notice a huge number of glowing reviews on the cover of the book,
on Amazon site , etc. that journalists, not scientists, write on their introductory pages. I wonder what the scientists in the author’s business think about this?
This is the best-selling book and I think this was the only Walker’s goal.
Really appreciate your focus on sleep for health @biofit - it's needed!!
