Making a beautiful free gown dress for my customer

Greetings Needleworkers

Good morning dear all, happy needleworkmonday to you all of my colleagues in the @needleworkmonday community, how are you all doing today and how was your weekend? I hope everything goes perfectly fine, today I will be sharing with you all the steps I carried in making this beautiful free gown dress for my best customer.

I'm so excited to meet you all here today and to be able to share my tutorial with you all, this month my customer told me that she has a traditional marriage ceremony to attend at the end of this month so she needed a simple freestyle dress because she's pregnant, so she gave me this Ankara fabric.

The fabric is so beautiful and the design looks great, I almost disappointed her, I forgot to sew her gown in time because she gave me so earlier and I kept it so I wanted to sew it that same week which was last week and the marriage was on Friday, she called me on Thursday morning asking if I am through with it so that she come and pick it, ooooh I was like shouting, I told her I forgot, well she didn't have a problem because she trusted me that I will sew for her and she blame herself that she would have remained me since, so it just came out urgent and I have to sew for her, I quickly finished up some of the house choices and brought out the fabric, then I started the cutting process.

I started by folding one side of the fabric by two, I measured her shoulder divided by two, then I took from her should down to her down burst and also down to her normal full length, I divided her burst measurements by four and her body measurements by four too, so went up to the shoulder point I measured from the shoulder down to 8 inches length for her armhole length then I drafted the body shape out and I added 3.5 inches for the body to be very free and for sewing allowance then I cut out the neck point to the size needed

After drafting it I cut it out.

I now folded the remaining fabric again after cutting out the front, I measured 1.5 inches for the zipper allowance and I placed the front on it.

After placing the front on the fabric on the fold I now cut out the back neck and the body.

After finishing with the cutting I brought out the blue bias for the neck and armhole binding.

Then I went to the sewing machine and bind the front and back neck, after that, I put a zipper at the back then I joined the front and the back shoulder together and used the blue bias and bind the armhole, at the same time I joined the body together then I cut out the side pocket piece and pit in the side pocket then after that give a bending at the hem of the dress.

** So here is the outcome of the dress.**

Here are the simple steps I carried out although I was making it so urgent that I couldn't be able to snap a few sewing steps I believe that through my explanation you all will understand, that I was so excited about making it up to her, and I was able to finish it that same day for her, she was so excited.
