Chapter II
It's time to get to know each other
I used to wander aimlessly around the surroundings of this old building, with only the moon as a witness to my eternal walks, in search of an innocent soul from which to take advantage, someone who would be swayed by my words and accompany me to satisfy my thirst for their blood, and then, forever, forget.
Sometimes, I would watch nostalgically from a distance how everyone used to live their lives in the ignorance of how ephemeral and short life is. But I did not envy them for that, on the contrary, I reveled in my understanding and superiority over the human race.
Some say that life stops being fun when we live the same thing every day. And why should it be that way?
Certainly, loneliness is not the best companion, because its ideas poison you day by day and you start losing what used to make you smile, what used to make you sigh, what you used to love.
When only the night accompanies you, you learn to miss the walks under the sunlight and try to compare them with the ones you now take bathed in the moonlight.
However, tonight, something different happened. My steps took me near that café that is close to the university campus. Although I usually do not pass by here for fear of being recognized by any of the students who frequent the place.
Perplexed by the events, I approached one of the windows and could see through it. The place was packed with people, some conversing, others immersed in narcotics, and some pretending to study while killing time. It was a common scene in this place.
However, something caught my attention: a lonely girl with orange hair and quite charming facial features, who met the current female beauty stereotype, was sitting there, alone, staring into nothingness, apparently lost in her thoughts.
Her eyes suddenly came out of the stupor they were in and locked in a gaze with me; she glanced at me briefly and then avoided my gaze. In my mind I thought "If you know what's good for you, it's better to stay away" and let out a sigh to move away from the place.
Night after night, unconsciously, I approached that same café and looked through the window in search of those curious eyes that I encountered on that occasion.
— I've seen you, looking for me. Have we met somewhere? — replied the redhead from behind me.
— The answer is no, but maybe it's time to get to know each other — I replied without even thinking.
And looking into each other's eyes, I felt a spark of desire ignite inside me. Something that hadn't happened for many centuries...

— Te he visto, buscándome.
