Card Strategy Guide: Baakjira + Kulu Mastermind

in Splinterlands15 days ago

Introduction

When it comes to Splinterlands, there are countless strategies to explore, but this week I’m diving into one of my current favorite combos. This strategy centers around pairing Baakjira with Kulu Mastermind — a powerful duo that brings some serious muscle to the battlefield!

The core idea here is straightforward yet effective. By placing Baakjira in the tank position and Kulu Mastermind right behind, you unlock some incredible synergy.
When Super Sneak, Equal Opportunity, or Melee Mayhem rulesets are in play, allowing melee units to strike from any position, this combo really shines.

Here’s the magic: Kulu Mastermind’s Weapon Training ability boosts Baakjira’s melee damage by 3, making Baakjira a serious force up front. With the added flexibility in melee positioning during certain rulesets, this duo can fit seamlessly into almost any lineup.

So, if you’re looking to up your game with a reliable and hard-hitting combo, give this strategy a shot. You might just find it turning the tide in your next battle!

This combo is specially great to boost the Baakjira with the weapon training ability of Kulu Manstermind. This way baakjira get 3 melee damage. Often this strategy is place baakjira in the first tank position and then the kulu manstermind in the second position.
When on of the other rule sets is in the mix, where melee can attack from any position this combo can be place anywhere in the lineup.

Strategy

A high mana cap battle with the equal opportunity ruleset perfect to use our favorite combo.

Rulesets

Equal Opportunity:
All units gain the opportunity ability meaning all will attack the weakest units.

Unprotected:
All armor and armor boosting abilities are removed. So no armor in this match.

The Lineup

Summoner

CardReason
One good summoner to prevent the opportunity is Lily. So the first needs to go trough my first unit which is a strong one.

Monsters Lineup

#1#2#3#4#5#6

Djinn Oshannus (lvl 4)
Very good unit to have in the front in this match for the forcefield and void. I expect some heavy hitter with this high mana cap battle.

Baakjira (lvl 4)
First star of this week. Look at the stats 16 health/strength/void/self heal and slow. And then it gets 3 damage from Kulu Mastermind truly

Kulu Mastermind (lvl 4)
Second star of this week. It already has opportunity so it can attack from every position the most important ability of this unit is the weapon training so it gives adjacent units 3 melee damage.

Merdaali Guardian (lvl 8)
This unit also benefits from the kulu mastermind gain 3 melee damage. Normally with equal opportunity it tricky to use this unit because of the low health but with Lily with camouflage this is save here for a while.

River Hellondale (lvl 4)
To further increase my melee damage this unit has made it in my team. if my opponent does the same with weapons training this unit can dispel its increased stats.

Coastal Sentry (lvl 10)
Then there is another beast of a unit not the most health but the double attack with 6 damage is insane just hope not to encounter forcefield.

Rounds

Start :

Lets analyze the battle lineup. First of a nice strategy with the low health Venari Marksrat. Its martyr will boost the its adjacent units twice (because it will be resurrected once).
The forcefield will be very useful in this case.
Because of the summoner Lily for its camouflage they first needs to get trough to Djinn Oshannus this makes me somewhat confidence that this strategy will will.

Round 1:

The Drybone Raider is hurting with 4 attack two of them are nerfed to 1 but still 10 damage.
This is also the unit that needs to die quickly.

Round 2:

This was my fear Drybone Raider kill almost two units in one turn. Even my Baakjira is gone in one round that is not funny and often not the case for this unit. Still Kulu is going strong and next round the Drybone Raider will be dead.

Round 3:

The dispel of my River Hellondale has cleaned the boost trice now that is an ability that is often overlooked.

Round 4:

Victory.

Conclusion

This is a nice strategy in my opinion here are some more battles with this strategy.
