Introduction
Hey, Splinterlands family!
I’m excited to dive into this week’s challenge hosted by @thepeoplesguild. This challenge really caught my eye because it’s all about bringing the community closer together and celebrating one of Splinterlands' co-founders, @Yabapmatt. Known as a "man of the people," Yabapmatt has been a pillar of the Splinterlands world, and this challenge invites us to design a summoner card inspired by his legacy.
There's even buzz that this card could be released through an exclusive auction-style sale, with only 100 copies available over 100 days—making it one of the rarest and most coveted cards in the game.
I’ve taken a swing at creating a summoner card that I think embodies Yabapmatt's influential spirit and leadership, while also packing some exciting gameplay mechanics. Let’s dive into the design and see how this card could shape up in battle!
Card Inspiration: Yabapmatt, the Dual-Element Summoner
Introducing Yabapmatt, a unique dual-element summoner who brings together the power of both the Life and Water splinters. This card draws inspiration from Yabapmatt’s multifaceted role in Splinterlands—a leader who adapts to any situation and influences the game on multiple levels. The summoner is designed to embody these qualities, offering incredible flexibility in gameplay while making a huge impact on the battlefield.
Dual-Element Power
Yabapmatt’s card allows players to summon monsters from both the Life and Water elements, blending their strengths into a hybrid team. His dual nature—part angel, part wizard—perfectly represents this. One moment he can deliver a devastating strike, and the next, heal your entire team to carry them through the final stages of battle. This duality makes Yabapmatt’s card a versatile and powerful tool for players, whether you prefer offense, defense, or a blend of both.
Passive Abilities
Yabapmatt doesn’t just lead his team—he empowers them. His card features two passive abilities that boost the effectiveness of your ranged and magic attackers.
All ranged units get a +1 damage increase, while magic units also gain +1 to their magic attack. This allows you to craft powerful synergies, making your hybrid team not just diverse but deadly.
Tactical Flexibility
What sets Yabapmatt apart from other summoners is his ability to make game-time decisions. His card allows you to boost two units with Immunity and Heal, perfect for all those toxic conversation, uhm i mean for rule sets involving toxic effects like Noxious Fumes .
Or chose to give a devastating blow to your opponent with the blast and snipe ability
Rarity
As an exclusive card, Yabapmatt’s summoner would likely be of Legendary rarity, complete with enhanced stats and unique abilities that set it apart as a collector’s dream.
Closing Thoughts
While it would be an absolute dream to get my hands on one of these incredibly rare Yabapmatt summoner cards—especially considering there will only be 100 available.
I can’t help but feel that this card will end up in the hands of the game’s top whales. The exclusivity and power of this dual-element summoner make it a highly coveted addition to anyone’s deck.
That being said, even if I don’t snag one myself, I’m looking forward to seeing how the auction unfolds. This challenge has been a great way to engage the community, and I’m excited to see the creative designs everyone comes up with, as well as how this scares Yabapmatt card impacts the game. Here’s hoping for some exciting battles ahead!
