RE: Top Tips for How to Earn in Splinterlands (Newb's Guide to Making Money)

Hey @frost77 - thanks for the comment.

I'd poke around on hive.blog (I prefer the peakd.com front end) and search for "beginner card" recommendations.

I also know that @bulldog1205 has been doing some great videos on YouTube. You can see one of his videos in this article - that should let you click through and see some others.

I am already subscribed to bull dog on YouTube. But I appreciate the response bubba. Idk, I have some pretty good cards. I made it all the way to silver. -shrugs.- once I got knocked out of silver though I haven't been able to climb back into it....

Idk, I'll figure it out.

There's a few things that play into that:

  1. There's a lot more players coming into the game right now so more competition
  2. At the beginning of a new season, you're battling against more people who were high ranked than you do at the end of the season... because the matches are done trying to match you to a similar rank. So the longer the seasons runs, the more you're battling against people that are closer in reality to your rank.

See how it goes as the season progresses :)

Indeed bud!! Thank you for the thoughts!. And I think I need to focus on leveling up my summoners next time, this time I worked the levels of my monsters higher. So I need to get my summoners stronger. Is there a place that has a list of the current monsters and their abilities?

Peakmonsters.com is my go to for looking for monsters/summoners and abilities (you can search for cards by ability there)

@peakmonsters

I don't understand how to place a bid, also how do I buy the packs? It's kinda confusing to me.

Packs are currently sold out - new Chaos Legion packs are set to come out in September.

You technically can acquire packs on hive-engine - but that’s a bit more advanced - and you’re buying them direct from other people rather than from splinterlands (which isn’t a problem, it’s safe, they’re just more expensive than when you’re able to buy them direct from Splinterlands)

Placing a bid on peakmonsters (if that’s what you’re talking about) is like saying “I’d buy this card for this price if it became available” - when you do that, peakmonsters is able to automatically buy cards for you if they show up available at or below that price on the market.

Since that is done as a sort of auction, whoever has the highest bid gets the card, though they won’t necessarily pay their bid price - it could be lower.

So, it transfers cards pretty much automatic from peak monsters to the game?
