El diagnóstico se realiza mediante parámetros de laboratorio, donde se evalúa la cantidad de colesterol y triglicéridos en sangre, si encontramos el colesterol total y/o los triglicéridos por encima de 200 mg/dL, estamos en presencia de hipercolesterolemia y/o hipertrigliceridemia.
The diagnosis is made by means of laboratory parameters, where the amount of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood is evaluated. If we find total cholesterol and/or triglycerides above 200 mg/dL, we are in the presence of hypercholesterolemia and/or hypertriglyceridemia.
TRATAMIENTO

El tratamiento farmacológico de primera elección son las estatinas (atorvastatina, simvastatina, etc.), una familia de medicamentos bastante útil para este tipo de patologías, ya que, reduce la síntesis endógena de colesterol, disminuyendo los valores de los mismos.
The first-choice pharmacological treatment is statins (atorvastatin, simvastatin, etc.), a family of drugs that is quite useful for this type of pathology, since it reduces endogenous cholesterol synthesis, lowering cholesterol values.
