Hello everyone!

Today a post about our latest family member: Molly, who has joined us for about 1 month now. A lot has happened in that 1 month, so it wasn't always that easy but Molly, she has definitely brought some light in the darkness! Firstly a bit of context leading to us going for a dog.

My girlfriend always wanted to have a pet. As I'm allergic to both cats and dogs, I ofcourse didn't want one. When I am at a friend's house with cats, I have the allergic symptoms: sneezing, a running nose and dry eyes. Besides that, I've had my blood tested in which it was found as well. So, yup, definitely allergic. An other aspect was that we were living on an apartment, thus I found it kind of impossible to get a dog. As we moved to a house recently, we wanted to hear if we could get us on a list to get a dog. We really wanted a puppy from a good breeder, as we wanted to be sure I wouldn't be allergic to the dog. As you could probably see on the picture, Molly is a labradoodle, which is a hypoallergenic species. That means that the chanches of being allergic to her a rather small. We have some friends who got a dog from the same breeder as well, so we already knew the breeder is fine and I'm not allergic to these dogs. I agree by the way that it would be better to take a pet from an animal shelter, but in our case I find it kind of a better idea to get a dog from a good breeder than getting one from a shelter, me being allergic to the dog and having to search for a solution.

So, as said we recently moved from an apartment to a house so started to think about a dog. As we knew from friends that the breeder had a waiting list of more than half a year, we already wanted to get us on the list. We emailed and tada, we were on the list for the end of the year. A couple of days later, we got a phonecall that one of the puppies was brought back as the previous owner who had her for one week, got severely sick and couldn't take care anymore of the puppy. So we could already get a puppy. As we were still living on the apartment for a couple of weeks, we were hesitant but in the end we went for it.

As you could imagine, it wasn't easy to take care of a puppy on an apartment, she had to pee every 2 hours and still did it inside as well. She woke up in the nights several times as well.

Now, several weeks later, we're really glad we got her. She grows insanely fast and is already listening to commands as 'sit' and 'come'. Already washed her, which went fine as well. So, yes, wasn't easy but she definitely brings some extra joy in our lives!

Thanks for reading! Do you have a pet?

Ehhhh? That's possible? That can make a lot especially for the other hoomans who wants a dog as a pet. Anyways, hello Molly, she is sooooo cute 😘

Yes, there are several hypoallergenic races (both for cats as for dogs). There are scientific papers telling that it's bullshit though but for me it's legit! :)
