What is this game about?

Description of the idea

I think it's worth describing the main idea of the game first.
The player found himself alone in the boundless space. All he has is a small base with a magnetic field that attracts flying objects. These objects are the initial goal of the player. The resources he will extract from these objects will be used to build new base components, improve the ship and trade. Initially, there will be two main types of space objects in the game: objects and meteorites.

Items are a general entity that can describe literally anything: a resource, a ship component, a coin, a crystal, a chest.

Resources is an entity that describes different types of minerals. In our game, meteorites will act as such fossils. A meteorite can consist of different types of resources, for example 10% metal and 90% coal.

To mine meteorites, the player will need to catch a meteorite in the magnetic field of his base, fly to it and start mining with his ship. Later, the player will have the opportunity to automate this process with the help of drones. The main essence of which is to search for meteorites in the orbit of the base and mining.

Containers will be used to store resources in our game. At first, the player's base will act as a container, then you can build additional containers. The player's ship and drones will also have containers designed to transport resources from meteorites to the base, or to other bases and even galaxies. For example, to trade.

Movement of the player in space will be done by clicking on various objects, or simply in space. It will be similar to controlling a character in some strategy.

So, we roughly described the essence of the game and dealt with the main mechanics. This will be enough to start implementing the first mechanics. First, we will take images from the Internet. And then we draw ours.

The first functional

At the first stage, we added 3 objects to the game: a spaceship, a base and a meteor. So far, these objects can do absolutely nothing.
And the first functionality that we implement is the ability to make any object in the game interactive so that the player can somehow interact with it. We created a kind of cursor that covers the object we clicked on.

In the next post, we will implement the ability to control the ship and rotate objects around our base.
