Elden Ring - Malenia Blade of Miquella has been defeated [ENG/ESP]

The last day I finished right after defeating Loretta, at the doors of an elevator that takes us to a new area where we can finish Millicent's quest and, more importantly, stand up to Malenia. This area is called Elfael and is a kind of kingdom inhabited by different creatures.
1.jpg
In the first room of this new area we will meet Millicent. Here she will reveal that she has the same blood as Malenia, but she doesn't know what exactly is hers, she doesn't know if she is her daughter, sister or just a part of her.
2.jpg
When we finish talking to her we can continue advancing. Although the kingdom is not completely in ruins and we can follow the 'standard' path using the stairs, we will also have the possibility of advancing by jumping over the structures, which will allow us to find some useful objects and avoid fighting with small unimportant enemies.
3.jpg
As we advance we will eventually reach a rotten area, where the roots of a large tree have broken through the walls. If we continue through this area we will come across two marks on the ground, one red and one gold. The red one is to challenge Millicent and fight her, the golden one is to help her in combat. Honestly, at a story level I don't understand why someone would choose to challenge her, I mean, I've been following her quest and helping her for half the game, it doesn't make sense that out of nowhere I decide to fight against her.
4.jpg
But well, in my case I decided to help her. By doing this I was transported to her world and I had to face Millicent's 3 sisters together with her. The combat is not complicated, Millicent is very helpful and has pretty good attacks, so if we concentrate our attacks on the same enemy she attacks, it will be easy to defeat the 3 of them.
5.jpg
After defeating them we will return to our world and see Millicent lying on the ground, unable to move. When we talk to her she will tell us that she took the golden needle out of her skin, so there is no longer anything to stop the red rot and, therefore, she will end up dying. She tells us that she did this because the needle was making her bloom, so she would rather die being herself than become someone else. After this she will ask us to let her die alone. If we leave and come back later, we will find her dead, with an object on her body that we can pick up: The golden needle.
6.jpg
Despite Millicent's sad end, our business was not yet finished in this area. I continued deeper into the realm until I reached the deepest part, where there was a point of grace in front of a room. There was Malenia.
7.jpg
Upon entering we will see how she is sitting, resting and caressing the tree that was created by her brother Miquella. When she notices our presence, she will get up, tell us her name and possibly the hardest fight in the game will begin.
8.jpg
In order not to make the post too heavy, I will summarize the first 20 try with the following gif and saying that, clearly, I died in all of them.
9.gif
Here I lost count of how many times he had killed me, but I was able to get to the second phase and he killed me again. The second phase is sickening, the attacks he has and how complicated it was for me to dodge many of them.
10.gif
After many, many try, I finally defeated her. So far it has been the only combat that has frustrated me, I even got to change weapons in a desperate try, but it was no use, in the end I just had to keep trying until I succeeded. Defeating her will give us her memory, which we can use to acquire runes or choose to exchange it for her sword. I still don't know what to do with this, on the one hand, I'm curious about the sword, but I know I won't use it because it scales with dexterity and not with strength.
11.jpg
When we defeat her we will also see how a bud blooms in the field. If we approach it, we will be able to interact using the golden needle we got in Millicent's quest and, by doing this, we will obtain Miquella's needle, an object that will be useful to reverse one of the endings, although in this run I will probably not give it any use.
12.jpg
I think it's a good time to end the adventure for today. With Malenia defeated, I have only one thing left to do before continuing with the main plot, but that will be a story for another day.

Sort:

I gotta pick this game up again soon. I was really surprised how much I enjoyed it even though I never liked the Souls games before. This and Sekiro have both been a ton of fun to play.

Those two are the only Souls I've played. Both are wonderful. It is a good time to return to Elden Ring, taking into account its future DLC.

Didn't know there's a DLC coming :O noice

I never finished Millicents quest. Must be on of the few things I didn't do in the game even though I got the platinum trophy. Not surprised to see her die at the end. It's a rough life for these NPCs in the Lands Between.

I just thought that when I finished her quest haha. I don't think anyone has a happy ending here, everything always ends in a sad and depressing way .

I love the graphics for this game

I've always been impressed by this game's graphics but somehow never really caught my interest to actually start playing it :( not sure why

It was more or less the same for me, in fact, I don't like Souls in general. This has been the exception, when it came out I managed to fall in love with that vast world and how epic the bosses seemed to be.

As I told you before, I don't play this game, but I have been following your posts and I know that you were preparing for the battle against Melina. That she hates, she looks spectacular, I'm happy that after all the attempts you managed to overcome her hahaha. Thanks for share friend!

Haha yes, she is the biggest obstacle. After defeating her, it practical marks the beginning of the end of the game.

Something similar is happening to me in Dragon Ball Xenoverse, I'm in a part where I first have to level up a lot before facing Beerus! Gaming Training xD
