Trying Sate Koyor at Beringharjo Market

Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you are doing well. Recently, I visited Yogyakarta for work. Of course, every time I come to this city, I always visit Beringharjo Market. There is one food that I can't miss is eating Koyor satay at Beringharjo Market.

I always come early in the morning to catch breakfast here. I want to share my story about this food. Koyor satay is one of the must-have and famous foods in Yogyakarta. I bought one portion complete with lontong, the satay mixed with chicken. The total price is around Rp. 35,000.

Koyor is the term for beef fat. In the past, some people could not buy beef. Because the fat part was sold cheaply, people could only buy the fat part. The fat part was not cooked by the nobility. Finally, other people thought of processing this fat into a new food. Koyor Satay.

The seasoning for this food is the same as the others. Only for me, the peanut sauce is made very thin. No pickles were added. Soy sauce is also added. Generally, Koyot satay is eaten while warm. Because if it is cold it will freeze. So, this seller will often grill koyor satay.

In Beringharjo Market, there are about 5 satay sellers. Two of them, many visitors. This satay is quite tasty, not strange. If you visit Yogya, you need to try this food. Several restaurants do provide koyor satay. But, the legendary koyor satay is in this place. This place also sells Tempe gembus satay, chicken satay, and beef satay. That's all I can tell you. See you in the next story.

It looks yummy for a bbq and you know, we don't have any beef BBQ and most of the time, it's pork BBQ and I wonder how does it taste for that kind of food. Is it the same as the pork BBQ or it's different?
