When I was younger, during my teenage years, I loved wearing branded clothes. I always wanted to wear something branded. But now, not anymore. Aside from being expensive, I also discovered cheaper clothes that look really good.
I believe that when it comes to clothes, it’s not about the brand, it’s not even about confidence, it’s about how the clothes fit your body.
When the fit is good, you’ll look good.
So why don’t I wear branded clothes anymore?
Branded clothes are expensive for me. Let’s say I buy four nice branded outfits. This means in one month, I’ll keep wearing them over and over again, and they’ll wear out quickly from frequent laundry and use. So, the clothes you bought for a high price gradually lose their value as they wear out.
Another reason is that you won’t be content. What do I mean? Let’s say you can afford Class B brands, and you’re happy because you’re wearing branded clothes compared to your peers.
But one time, you’re with a group and someone is wearing a Class A brand. Now, you start thinking that your clothes are inferior, and in the end, you’re not even proud of your branded clothes anymore.
So, now you’re tightening your budget to afford a Class A brand.
This is a normal scenario because society has brainwashed us into thinking that people have classes and levels. You can break free from that if you decide to, just like I did.
So, I decided to look for cheap clothes that look presentable, fit well, and suit me. That’s what’s important when choosing clothes—what you wear should suit you.
I used to go to bazaars and midnight markets to buy clothes, but now that I’m used to online shopping, I just buy my clothes online.
Like this polo shirt I found. I bought three of them, and they’re really nice. Each one costs less than PHP 155. If you catch it on sale and use a voucher, it might be even cheaper! When I wore it, I was so happy because it fit me so well.

So, our clothes don’t have to be expensive and branded, what’s important is that they look good and suit us when we wear them.
I even saw something new, though I haven’t bought it yet, but I’m sure I will because it’s so cheap. It’s a buy one, take one t-shirt! Hahaha!

In my next post, I’ll give tips on how to be an effective online shopper. I know many people are scared to buy online because of other people’s bad online shopping experiences, but don’t be afraid.
If you know how to shop, there’s a low chance you’ll be disappointed.

I used to like expensive brands in my youth too. Now I realize it's better to go for bang for the buck rather blow my earnings on expensive clothes.
In today's times, there are already a lot of really nice clothes that are more affordable, and you can buy more for your money.

Nowadays, I always go for something simple and affordable too :) In a way, I can relate to your journey too :)

The only reason we wanted those branded clothes is because we were brainwashed by ads when we were younger, thinking that those were the only good clothes. So when we matured, we realized, "Yeah, it's really just a waste of money on branded clothes."
