Dicha película fue dirigida, escrita y coproducida por Tom Ford, y protagonizada por Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Michael Shannon, Isla Fisher y Armie Hammer. Es la adaptación de la novela de suspense psicológico Tony and Susan (1993), escrita por Austin Wright.

La trama de la pelicula se centra o comienza Susan Morrow recibe el manuscrito de una novela escrita por su exmarido Edward Sheffield junto con una invitación para cena durante la próxima visita de Edward a Los Ángeles. Molesta por el deterioro de su matrimonio con el hombre de negocios infiel Hutton Morrow, Susan se deja consumir por la novela, que está dedicada a ella y se llama "Animales nocturnos" por el apodo que Edward le dio.
The plot of the film centers or begins Susan Morrow receives the manuscript of a novel written by her ex-husband Edward Sheffield along with a dinner invitation during Edward's next visit to Los Angeles. En la novela, Tony Hastings es un hombre de familia que se enfrenta a tres alborotadores locales, Ray Marcus, Lou y Turk, durante un viaje por una carretera por el oeste de Texas. Dicho enfrentamiento presenta grandes eventos cauticos para la familia, los cuales no comentare para no arruinarles la pelicula.
In the novel, Tony Hastings is a family man who confronts three local troublemakers, Ray Marcus, Lou, and Turk, during a road trip through West Texas. This confrontation presents great captive events for the family, which I will not comment on so as not to ruin the movie.
Esta película en mi opinion es una obra de arte, te mantiene entretenido durante toda su duración, llega el momento en el que solamente te quedas pensando como se une estas 2 historias, porque a pesar de que la historia se trata sobre Susan, la historia secundaria que seria la que cuenta el libro es puesta como parte de la película de una forma tan vivida que a veces no te das cuenta que es la narración del libro.
This film in my opinion is a work of art, it keeps you entertained throughout its duration, there comes a time when you just keep thinking about how these 2 stories come together, because even though the story is about Susan, the story secondary school that would be the one that the book tells is put as part of the film in such a vivid way that sometimes you do not realize that it is the narration of the book.
Esta es mi primera recomendacion, y quería compartir con ustedes esta pelicula maravillosa, que encontre por casualidad hace 4 años y puedo decirle con toda seguridad que durante esos años sigo recordandola a la perfeccion y sigo teniendo ese sentimiento de confusión que tuve al momento de verla. Es realmente magnifica la forma que todo es relatado y aunque no me gusta mucho como esta unido todo (me creo mucha confusión al inicio este estilo de cinematografía) no quita el hecho que sea una gran película.
This is my first recommendation, and I wanted to share with you this wonderful movie, which I found by chance 4 years ago and I can tell you with complete certainty that during those years I still remember it perfectly and I still have that feeling of confusion that I had when I saw it. . The way everything is told is really magnificent and although I don't like how everything is put together (I create a lot of confusion at the beginning this style of cinematography) it does not remove the fact that it is a great film.
