SCRABBLE

Phew!
My life as a game, yeah? Should be an interesting one filled with so much learning, wondering, pondering, and finding meaning.

In 2020, during the covid-19 lockdown, I learned the game of Scrabble. I liked chess more -I still do - but I couldn't join the guys who played outside my compound for reasons which I'd withhold, but Scrabble was within reach. We had it at home plus my siblings played it night and day, eery single day during that time.

Chess, as I've learned, requires more critical thinking and is great for the mind. The other game that quite came close was Scrabble, so I jumped at it. I'm just drawn to this kind of thing.

I mostly played the game with my siblings(or their friends). At the time, we were all just recognizing the fun in the game. We'd rustle the tiles. Hoard blanks and eses for a bingo. Play our best words. Exchange tiles for better chances of scoring higher. Come at each other. Tweak positions. Speculate. A mental battle. Just us. We see new words, words not found in the traditional dictionary, and I always marvel at their meanings.

A splendid game in Scrabble usually has three or four bingos. And the player with that is most likely to win, except the game is usurped by the other guy who plays the same amount of bingos ( that is, playing out all seven letter on your rack at a go.)

Scrabble is great. Words. Words. Words. Some, we(read as i) had to make up words using the letters on my rack, hoping the words make sense. Some you barely know the meaning. Or do not know the meaning at all. But you need them to knock your opponent off. You are both comparing word power with tactics, knack, time, and speculations to get a taste of victory in the end.

Cool stuff.

If my life was a game, it would be the game of Scrabble. Its a complex yet simple game requiring mental calculations to come up with words that make sense and to place those tiles so rightly that they earn double, triple, and higher scores. It requires placing new tiles rightly so they fit well(or rhyme, or add some mire) meanings to the tiles that have previously been placed right.
Like life, sometimes, I try so hard, come up with whatever with little result to show, some other times, I hit a big word, put it so right and...Eureka!
All that I am implying is that it's a search for meaning and alignment.
I do hope that this makes sense.

Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!

I remember my first time playing scrabble. It was a disaster but I soon found my feet. Cool stuff.😅
