No, @brianoflondon, the creator, spun up a Lightning node so we can go from HIVE to Lightning and back, seamlessly.
If you hold $HIVE, you can pay a Lightning invoice.
If the other party holds Lighting, you can generate a Lightning invoice and receive $HIVE in your wallet. It's quite amazing.
